Halo needs to core up its player base in order to keep population stable in the future.
The match composer is an amazing base for what should become ‘Halo Online’ or ‘Halo MM’ or ‘Halo Match Composer’… Whatever it is officially branded.
If you have game pass, you have access to all Halo matchmaking. If you own one of the games individually, you can queue up for it as well. Add Halo 5, and (soon) Halo Infinite, to the match composer. Ranked playlists separate just like they are today.
343 really got match composer right. It is set up well for the future if these steps are taken. I don’t think people realize how thin the population of Halo is spread out through individual games right now. And with MCC Xbox, MCC PC, Halo 5, and soon Halo Infinite… It will only get harder for fans to find games.
I’ve explained the math in prior posts years ago, but I will just keep it simple. Someone like me searching for multiple Halo game matches in composer makes finding matches exponentially easier. Having everyone doing this in the same place (Halo Online) is another key component to keeping the game alive.

I agree with you and i believe they are working towards trying to limit the separate playing field and bring them together.
A note in one of the recent MCC updates, talked about Cross-play between Xbox and PC, so that would help combine the two into one. and hopefully they will do the same for Infinite.
