So it’s no surprise that there are 4 helmets that made it from Halo 4 to Halo 5 that were special, those being the Strider, Deadeye, Scanner, and Locus helmets (rare, ultra rare, ultra rare, and legendary for the curious). Strider and Scanner were unlocked via season passes while Deadeye and Locus were pre-order bonuses with Halo 4. Now, these helmets did not have matching armors in Halo 4, as do the classic helmets in Halo 5. But, in Halo 5, each special helmet was given their own armor to match. How thoughtful! Not really, if we’re being serious. Almost anyone that has avidly played Halo 5 has realized that:
-The Strider armor is just a re-skin of the Enforcer armor
-The Deadeye armor is just a re-skin of the Fotus armor
-The Scanner armor is just a re-skin of the Soldier armor and the chestpiece is at a 5 degree sharper angle
-The Locus armor is just a re-skin of the Aviator armor
Thoughtful.
But, I am trying to be optimistic. I say, for the next Halo game, create something entirely new for these 4 special helmets, as they are held dear so many of us (and Locus from RvB). Try something new, and if you can’t, remix an armor piece from a similar looking helmet (For Strider, use a remixed version of the Orbital armor) but not a complete copy. This would have been easily achievable in Halo 5, but wasn’t. And before you say no because the armors can’t be mismatched in any way, then why are the Scout shoulders used in the Cypher and Vector armors?
That is my rant.

I agree. The armors for the aforementioned helmets were a really lazy job and for such awesome helmets, they deserved better. Reusing the Soldier body for Scanner is almost inexcusable.
