For Halo 5 boot AFK scrubs

Why are AFK players not booted in Halo 4.
This is not acceptable and is pretty much inexcusable too.
I hope 343 gets that right for Halo 5.

Yesssssssss!

If anyone doesn’t move in something like 1:30 minutes they should be automatically kicked. Maybe a warning with countdown could pop up at the 1:00 mark.

It has always baffled me… Who in the heck would be afk for a halo game!? Everytime I press that search button I’m on high alert! Ready to rumble! Who goes and makes a sandwich or whatever the heck…

And when I’m going to take a break after the game, I’m getting out of the matcher. That’s just common sense…

I’m not sure which is worse, griefers or AFKers, but they are both at the bottom of my Halo player hierarchy. Trolls can be good for a laugh, quitters give you the chance to get a new team mate, and bad players at least try. But AFKers?

Worthless, selfish, no-good, inconsiderate, sons-of-Kig-yar…

Gosh. Sure are alot of people that failed to realize that real life happens. If your child falls, or something happens, the last thing on your mind is “Oh hey, I am in a game with these guys, it would be awfully polite of me to quit of this game so that they do not have to deal with me being away from the game because I am currently going to be attending to real life circumstances.”

No you are almost immediately out of your seat, often dropping the controller on the floor attending to real life, you know, something hat takes precedence over video games.

Now I am not saying there aren’t those that just do it for the free XP, but that is just one more way casualizing the game and providing points for just existing in a game rather than skill is ruining Halo.

Yeah im with you mate… As i work so much i am limited to time i can play. So when i have a chance i dont want to be waiting for a match to come up. Like 2 days ago i had to leave my controller and run to the door to unlock it for my GF (she didn’t have a key), i mean i was back in a minute but im not gonna leave the game for that. At the end of the day when im playing im trying to be 100% but sometimes ‘real life’ happens.

People that can be 100% in the game with no distractions, im jealous of you guys!!

I agree, I hate having AFK players on my team (who doesn’t) it’s so annoying looking at the post game carnage report an looking through the players and then finding out you lost by two kills because an AFK player went 0-15 on your team

While i sympathize with people who have real life issue’s that spontaneously pop up.I want you to understand that something like that does not happen too often. When it does you most certainly have enough time to back out of the game if you even suspect you will be gone for more than a minute.

I am fully aware of the argument that you aren’t thinking straight.Overlooking the existence of the game due to an event removing you from the game to attend to personal matter’s.If that is the case, then you cannot complain over your removal from the game.Since it was so meaningless compared to whatever real life event interrupted you.

You cannot allow something to be abused by people because of the issue’s of a few.The majority of people who AFC are doing it on purpose. They are in a sense “leeching” off other player’s work.Which is not tolerated by the vast majority of gamer’s.

Any kind of non activity in a game is viewed as just that.Real life simply does not exist in video games and should be kept separate. It is a courtesy to leave the game so that you do not ruin the game experience of other’s.

I would propose that 60 seconds of inactivity boots the player. They don’t need to be banned for X amount of time, it is just so they are removed from the game.

That is not a hard thing to ask or expect. It is considered rude to just put your controller down, leave, and not come back for a extended period of time.Real life problem’s don’t concern the other player’s that are still playing the game.So why would they care for what ails you?

I find it irritating when someone on my team isn’t playing and just stands somewhere doing nothing but feeding the enemy’s score.Let’s not forget that put’s the team a man down.

When i still played Halo 4 and came across a AFC’er i would push them into a obscure location as fast as possible and defend the area as best i could.Since if i didn’t the enemy team would just get free kills.I did not enjoy having to kill faster than my teammates would die or the enemy could find the AFC’er.At least the nearly worthless teammates were still playing and trying.

The “real life issues” excuse to defend AFC player’s doesn’t work. Most people just find it obnoxious, including myself.

I think my stance on this issue is due to playing a PC MMO called Guild Wars for over 6 year’s.AFK players were scorned, avoided, and isolated from joining teams, guild, and groups if they were a known AFK’er.Which that mentality towards such behavior has simply stayed with me.Even if it was a guild member who had to go do something in real life, they were kicked from the guild in most cases. It was not tolerated whatsoever.

So when the topic of AFK/AFC player’s is brought up, i can only express my hatred for the behavior.Which is more or less the pitch black kind of hatred if that makes it easier to visualize.

That is all.
