p.s. moderators, I think this post is legit but I’ve gotten some warnings recently because I let my temper get the better of me while in the throws of stage 2.so I sincerely apologize if this belongs in another place or if this is “negative or non constructive”. I really do have the best intentions and I’m not trying to jab 343i or anybody else here.
It’s just a game dude. You either play it or you don’t. You personally do not care for Halo 4? Fine, then go play something else. I’m sure with the thousands upon thousands of games on the market right now, there is one game which fits your liking.
You are not in any way obligated nor is there some kind of status quo to play a certain game.
there are a lot of people on these forum for whom halo is not “just a game”. myself included. halo has become a part of our lives over the last decade or so. just sayin. now i know what nerd-rage is.

WHAT THE -Yoink-? you think Halo is JUST a GAME? No way bro, this is THEE game. This was MY game. Halo is the only game I play. Just a game… psh. You crazy.
Bro, I have been playing Halo since day one of the midnight release of CE. Halo in general is one of my most favorite franchises of all time. Though I am passionate about the game, I still realize it’s just a game.
I’m never let down in regards to a game. If I don’t like it, then I simply move on to the next one. It’s just a game.
I for one am glad Halo keeps changing a little with every new installment. It keeps it fresh and new. I really do not understand this mentality that where people can bash on COD for being pretty much the same games with every release, but Halo is exempt from this. If Halo was just carbon copies of the previous title, then I would not purchase it. I’m buying a new game and I expect new things and new content. If I wanted to play the old stuff, I can just put in the old games.
Last thing. If Halo 3 (just on example) is soooooo great, then why are there not more people still playing it? The servers are still up.
The developers and the majority of the gaming community in general have moved on, why can’t you?

As much awesome as Halo was to both my brother and I, we do realize it’s a game. It’s a big deal to us when the next one comes out, but there are things more important than Halo.
The problem isn’t what they are putting in to the game, it’s what you guys are putting into your heads. The higher your expectations are, the bigger the fall will be when they do not match up to it. That’s why I do not go, “WTF! Bungie/343 you fail bcuz it isnt EVRthng I Wantz!” because I do understand that they are human beings, and they screw up like the rest of us do, and that not everything will be as amazing as you and I want it to be.
I expect what’s currently in now to be better, the new stuff to be cool, and hope they blend well in a way that doesn’t take away the core Halo experience that got me hooked with the first one. with good DLC. Was Halo 2 everything I wanted? Yes. Did it disapoint in alot of aspects? Yes. Same with Halo 3, Reach, and now Halo 4. However, in their own right, they are really good games I’d recommend to people if they want to pick up a game for some fun.
Stop getting overly-excited about things. They’re going to mess up somewhere. Every great game in history messed up somewhere. They make mistakes, fix it in the next one, then they go add in stuff and some will not work as originally intended. History will repeat itself.
Im pretty sure about 55% of all the hate for this game… would go away if they just put the rank system back in.
No one would care about pointless scoring system AKA no leader boards, a random #130 game rank??, the fact that half of the people who play the game are stuck at 70 right now and cannot enjoy the MP to its potential “LOL”, flinch, the DMR OP bullet magnetism in the BR’s intended lethal range and other various weapon sandbox tweaks
Dont get me started on the custom options Im not even a custom player but i feel for them.
If they just did the rank on release or slaked the thirst by promising it would be there, ya know… IN THE GAME, not on waypoint…
A bunch of folks would be like… “eh, its not THAT bad”.
sigh there are enough “lists of problems”/rant threads.
there are enough H4 defense/“just get over it bro” threads.
this was supposed to be a simple if/then. if you feel let down then this article may help.
if you’re happy with the game, good for you. enjoy. this thread is not for you.
if you’re not (and it is simple fact that there are those who are not) this may make you feel better. …or not who knows? either way there are plenty of better threads to put your gripe list on.
as for the general “its just a game it’ll be ok” attitude? i have to ask again. did you even read the link? you kinda make my point.
I totally didnt read the link at all. I just responded to that guys post. Im not in any of those steps. I just play the game and am waiting to see if its going to be another Reach.

As for people saying its just a game and get over it… Here’s a scenario for you:
My cousin turned 15 just before halo 4 came out. He saved his allowence for months and put all his birthday money to getting the game and console package. (which in Australia sold for $450) He worked his -Yoink- off for MONTHS to get this game. And because the ‘limited edition’ console didn’t come with a LE version of the game he’s stuck on level 70, not to mention the other probs. Sorry but the ‘its just a game, and they’re only human’ argument doesn’t hold up with me.

I still think the worst thing for Zac was that the info about playing before Nov 20th wasn’t very clear, he convinced his father to allow him to connect it to the net so it would show he had played before then & he’d get the Specs. My wife & I had to explain they meant he’d need to play on XBL, which he’s not allowed to have.

Actually kitten, we might have a workaround for Zac, this thread I’ve been following might allow him to progress past SR70, just means he’ll have to visit more often.
I’m at the point where if there isn’t a KOTH,Grifball,Doubles, REAL FFA in the MM by March 2013 I will stop playing and wait until at least 2 months after Halo 5’s release to see if it is even worth buying.
It seems to be decided that the ranked thing is out the window and will only be on Waypoint.
such a shame too. H4’s population is pathetic for such a new game.
