When you finally get your much lusted after Ranking System, and find yourself near the bottom of the ranks. {Yes youll get a ranking system}
Will that set well with you, or not?
I suspect NOT. Why do I say that?
Mainly due to the FACT that I suspect that those who brag on these forums about having to carry noobs and always finish near, or at the top of each MP game arent as good as they claim, and a truley fair ranking system MAY demote players who currently holds a SR90 - 130 or K/D rating others are envious of will cry all the more.
As for me. I like the idea of a ranking system. However, I nor my son is as good in MP as 99% of you are. {whether you cliam to be good or not} So I know we will rank at the bottom. But then we are more of campaign players so MP rankings {Top, bottom, or somewhere in between} dont bother us in the least.
So before a ranking system comes your way. Will you be happy at the bottom of the ranks?
Or do you think a SR-130/superb K/D ratting should automatically place you at, or near the top?
Will we automatically be given a rank?
I assumed we would start from 0 and work to 50 and have it playlist specific.
I won’t be mad at any rank and it really doesn’t affect how I play once the game has started.
K/d means nothing. I could solely play objective gametypes and only go for kills and have a 4.0 if I really wanted to. It’s all about winning.
Guess they got to do better then. I assume that everyone’s going to start at the bottom though, unless they make everyone lvl 50s and people will drop in rank. Pretty sure everyone’s going to start from the bottom though.
The OP is basically saying that people will likely cry foul when their supposed “one thing that makes halo playable” doesnt let them have as high a rank as they think they should, and will thus call the system broken and 343 idiots.
I agree. It’s a “-Yoink!- if you do, -Yoink!- if you dont” situation. Just look at the Team Throwdown playlist.
“WE WANT A COMPETITIVE PLAYLIST!”
“Ok, here ya go!”
“UGH THIS PLAYLIST SUCKS.”

If what I suspect is even in the least bit correct, then youll find out the purpose of this thread within a week after a ranking system releases.
Just remember to come back to waypoit and take note of what people complaim about next.

Something like this?
“I’d have a higher CSR if it wasn’t for Ordnance drops and them being random unbalanced BS!”
Play an objective game mode.
“I’d have a higher CSR if it wasn’t for the DMR and stupid AAs!”
Play team throwdown.
“I’d have a higher CSR if I didn’t have quitters all the time!”
Play with 3 other friends.
“I’d have a higher CSR if we didn’t get paired so poorly all the time. Halo 4 sucks!”

You obviously never played Halo 2 or Halo 3. You dont have to play ranks. Halo 2 and 3 had entire section called social playlist for people who played for fun and didnt want to be ranked. If these people you speak of are bad and receive low ranks then they will go play playlist WITHOUT ranks. I never reached top rank in Halo 3. My highest was a 48/50, but I tried my hardest. I learn new strategies, made alot of friends, and had a blast when the game was 49-49 and with me knowing that if I win I might just finally rank up and that everything was on the line with that final kill.
THE POINT IS YOU DONT HAVE TO PLAY RANKS. IF YOU DONT LIKE RANKS DONT PLAY IT! Why on Earth is this so hard to get through? DO NOT PLAY IT IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, PLAY THE OTHER PLAYLIST YOU DO LIKE!!! I like playing football or baseball more than basketball, therefore I will play football or baseball rather than basketball. I dont like basketball, therefore I will not play it, nor will I criticize the people who like it. PLAY WHAT YOU LIKE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

Implaying that all competitive players come on this forum just to give feedback…
Most of the times somebody goes to any forum is to complain about something they don’t like, it would be very strange to see somebody impressed so much to leave the game to go on the forums to thank the DEVs, unless he/she comes to these forums very often.
Personally, i’ve played all the competitive settings in custom games since the first ones were created for this game, i complained for the lack of good gametypes in Matchmaking and now i’m finally happy thanks to Team Doubles, Snipers and the AWESOME Team Throwdown.
Most of the people i know on XBL that were complaining before are now very exited and grateful, Waypoint, just like every other forum, represents a distorted view of the reality.
Gonna derail this topic ever so slightly but does anyone know if the CSR will be ranked seperately depending on playlist, or just one overall rank? Also, do we know how it will be determined? I seriously hope the main factor is wins not k/d…

Each playlist will have its own CSR but will only be visible on Waypoint
BTW yes people will complain, but they will not complain about the actual ranking system, but rather all the other problems with this game that effects their CSR.

By each playlist. Gonna get my 50 Griftball like a boss

Also your highest rank will be promoted via Waypoint profile. For example if you have a 25 in Doubles and a 30 in Team Slayer, then when someone visits your player profile they will see you are a 30, to check individual playlist levels I am assuming they will have a little section for that as well.

No throwdown is a great playlist but it’s the tribute to irony. JIP was taken out and that is the sole complaint of it. I knew JIP was a great addition.

They said there would be CSR for each playlist available. While it won’t be much to have a high ranking Griftball, I can still have it

This. I’m not afraid of having a -Yoink- rank. I just wanna be able to see how well I compare to my friends and others, insead of having some -Yoink- # that only counts how long you’ve played.
I have played Halo since the original xbox with the sparkeling power boards, and the dreaded Thompson drives. If you dont know, that means the very first xboxs launched. I own 4 of em btw. All refurbed and connected system linked. Also in OUR {family thing. Yes even my wife plays} we have 4 copies each of Halo CE and Halo 2. Halo 3 we have for the 360. My son plays it a lot via xbl. I really dont care for Halo 3 myself.
Reach/ODST we dont have, but do hope to get soon.
Yes, after the trouble I went through with melted down internal power boards, and the dreaded dirty disk errors of doom. It took me until 2011 to trust another xbox console. After seeing all the forums, and yt vids of the 360 RRoD. I am glad I waited.
And to be honest. Without Halo xboxes wouldnt even exist IMO.
