I wish you worded it like this the first time because I can agree/respect what you have to say now. No worries, I started this thread with a dumb comment too.
While I, too, dislike Halo 5’s Req system and the cost of items in Infinite’s shop, they do pay for free content. For example the new maps in 5 were covered by the money made from in game purchases. I would assume additional maps and modes in infinite will be financed by the shop in the same way.

It’s 12AM and my brain’s failing me, I really need to stop hanging out on forums like this.
But my biggest gripe is that is seems like it didn’t come up in development for issues like what the majority of the community to be IDK polled or otherwise gauged via forum response beforehand.
Kinda an issue with most of the industry nowadays not just Halo.
I think if this was conducted and fixed before the “proper” release, Infinite would be getting less flak than it is now.
I’ll see y’all when I get back

This is fair but it’s still done to maximise profits over just charging us for map packs like they used to
I’d rather pay for a full priced game with general customisation included than it all locked behind paywalls. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have a store all together but reserve this for the more whacky additional armor, don’t take armor from 10 years ago then put it in the store for $20 that just hurts

Well a lot of us called out the store in the flight but we’re shrugged off
they even released multiplayer early and called it a “beta” which still had issues that went unfixed. All of these posts also got deleted when they decided to wipe the forum archive with the new look they added

Oh yeah they are making a sick profit on top too. An added benefit on the consumer end to free maps is that everyone has access to them compared to having the player based divided by who has all/some/none of the DLC. I remember paying for the Halo 3, Reach and 4 maps just to not play on them for 90% of the time in matchmaking.
I think they called it a beta in order to not get sued for breach of contract by retailers due to an agreement on the “official launch date.” By 343i own admission it was the full launch of the MP.

All in all 343i & Microsoft are companies and are there to make money which is fair enough, but this shouldn’t be achieved by taking a beloved franchise and intentionally hindering already existing mechanics and features in order to prioritise their ability to increase profits by sacrificing the player experience.

Ah yes, the factor of people forgetting that game development takes more time so it can get boring when evident internal issues have caused issues in the development of an otherwise good game hence cohesion not being the best. 343 have already confirmed they will begin working things out after the christmas holiday, and while it may be that, in buisness that ussually means until January at the earliest and February at the latest since January is always a slow month for production. 343 also confirmed the game’s development changed over the 6 years from story being worked out until they figured out a way out of the pothole The Created left for them, to the contractors not having enough time to get use to the tools they were using to make Infinite. 343 will look into things and unlike companies like Respawn will get back to us about those issues in something like the Dev Blogs, so just wait till a later date like March before your critisisms hold better weight because then we can weigh through the issues outside bugs since those will be addressed faster and will be in the process of being fixed through January as their primary focus before these other issues are addressed since they are minor in the grander scheme of the game’s success. I say that they are minor because even if the dedicated older fans leave, there will be more casual fans and younger fans to replace the void as more content is added over time which given recent leaks, looks to be coming sooner than Season 2 which I assume is a soft season roll over with the big seasons themselves being with a campaign DLC to boot.
If anything though, given the discussion in this thread, I wouldn’t be surprised if this got locked given its not supplying much but breeding more toxicity at points and its just a mind-numbing discussion to read given its mostly reguratating similar arguments to where it becomes white noise.
if thats the case how bout we lock the whole forums down cause I see more toxicity then feedback here
I mean realistically yeah, any Halo Infinite stuff has the tendency to get bad, everything else is kind of civil now but still chaoitic given the stuff going on with Halo Infinite currently
