Well sure but MCC had 4 games at launch and all the maps mixed together in BTB and yet I swear it felt like 99% of the time I was getting Halo 3 Valhalla picked most of the time. Just want more variety and don’t want veto/voting to return. I think if people only want to play specific maps then they probably should just play custom games.
That is a fair point.
When do they get back to work?
All alone - last man standing in infection on a map from the Defiant map pack.
The only achievement I have left to do. It’s been that way for ten years and will be forever!
Gotta love it when they are told like fact
No veto please - we don’t want another reason for people to quit out of games.
Ain’t pay to win in halo 5. Unlike the pay to win level skips you can get Infinite
So buying req packs that include stronger weapons, vehicles and improved mods is not pay to win?
But skipping ranks to get cosmetics that make zero effect to gameplay is pay to win.
I heard dumb takes before but this one take the cake.
This may just be the dumbest thing I’ve seen today
The only halo game that actually had a rank progression was halo reach
Lolwut? So Halo 2, 3, 4, and 5 just don’t exist? Halo 3 did it best since your rank actually correlated to some degree of skill versus just pure playtime like Reach through Halo 5.
Except you can get the packs without putting money into them so by the magic of EA logic you don’t “have” to pay for them. Secondly that’s only in the Warzone PvP mode and not the entire game., wow, one game mode which you can ignore.
The levels skips in Infinite are only available via payment which make them more pay to win than the Req packs.
Pay to win means you get an advantage by paying. So someone can pay for many packs and get many high tier items Vs someone who can’t pay for packs and grinds like 2 a day and has next to nothing Vs the guy who has a tank every time you destroy it.
It replaced BTB so for me it was actually a huge deal breaker. I stopped playing Halo 5 all together because of it.
The advantage in Infinite is not grinding through the battlepass. But I guess people like to only look at a gameplay advantage
That’s not pay to win though, is the point.
“Halo 5 is not pay to win expect for when it is”
No you can skip levels by playing and earing XP. Even if you buy ranks, it’s not like it gives you an advantage in any game mode.
“Halo Infinite isn’t grindy with Pay to win incentives expect for when it is”
“No you can get Req pack by playing and earning credits” And you gain the advantage of not being required to play the game anymore. Halo 5 was the start but like in my last post people are going for “it’s a gameplay advantage” defense. Like the battlepass wasn’t initially made to sell XP passes without them bandaging the “daily” xp onto the system after the mass backlash
No, they’re partly right.
You can’t skip levels without buying them.
However, what they said about it being pay-to-win isn’t correct because you’re not paying for in-game advantages during matches.
I know. I was using the same logic of “req packs are not pay to win”
I’d like the make things clear and that I absolutely despise the Warzone REQ system. However the pro of the REQs at least on the view of unlocking armour was that it was performance based.
The better you did the more credits you got and like the battle pass skips in infinite you could circumvent them with real money.
Once again I’ll state in both games, I’d rather have a system like Reach (which was mega grind but allowed for campaign/offline progress) or ideally MCC (Same pros as reach but less grindy).
Both Halo 5 and Infinite showcase system more aimed at wrenching money *yes even more so in Halo 5 than being improvements on the armour customisation/unlock system as a whole.
EDIT: IIRC they’re working on performance XP on the next update
I consider reaching the highest rank and completing all the armor customisations ‘beating the game’ so I agree that infinite can be considered pay to win since you can just buy all the rewards that should have been reserved to those who actually earned them.
No you’re not paying for an advantage gameplay wise but you’re still paying to completely skip the progression system making it pointless to yourself and those who actually play to earn their armor
