For all the players defending 343i and the decisions they've made

I’ve said it before several times, but I think everything that’s in the shop should always be in the Battle Pass, and that there should be several tiers with the most being $59.99.
The shop should be there for those who just want a few items and don’t care about a sense of progression.

I know what you mean, since I’ve seen it happen with other companies, but I haven’t seen that happen myself with 343

Well sadly I personally had to deal with req packs making it through the halo 5 flights, even those too saw heavy backlash so I wouldn’t be all that shocked if nothing much changes with infinite either.

The shop should be there for those who just want a few items and don’t care about a sense of progression.

This I 100% agree with.

I hope it’s different this time.

I did not mean to make it seem like you liked the req packs. Just ment to give an example of something much closer to how EA montizes their games buy letting players gamble with real money for a chance to get stronger gear/players. Sure you can earn those loot boxes in EA games through game play, but it’s easier to pay up. I feel the sentiment, however. These prices are 100% too damn high. But at the end of the day these are only cosmetic items.

Personally I’d like more people to complain about player collision, missing playlists, weapon/vehicle buffs and so on. It feel like the bigger issues are swept up under all the hub hub about the store, which has no effect on gameplay.

I would also like a roadmap. Not my idea, someone a few day mentioned this. But it would be nice to have something to look at with estimated dates and stuff to know what’s coming in the future.

Yeah req packs we’re complete and utter garbage and I hope we never see the return of rng loot boxes in halo again…

EA can just keep their “surprise mechanics” all to themselves.

E… A… Sports… It’s not in the game… unless you buy our microtransactions :joy:

If people let this go, you’ll start seeing issues that creep into the non-cosmetics.

I’d like to see this as well.
Then we don’t have to guess if they’re going to change things or not.

This is a concern with a lot of XP and currency systems as well.

I’m not saying let it go. Just don’t have this one thing be 90% of the discourse about the flaws of the game.

I have a theory that a lot of connection based, inconstant damage, latency issues might be cause by older systems/weaker PCs. Knowing which platform suffers certain issues could help the dev team into working a fix sooner. For example if 90% of original XB1 users are experiencing the same issue, working on a patch for that system would be quicker and more effective than a blanket patch on all systems, especially if the other platforms are not experiencing that certain issue.

That shows people really don’t like it though.
Not only that, but if people complain about other things, and they get fixed first, people might defend them using that when people complain about the cosmetics again.

I know it’s cynical, but I think people have already done that somewhat with the playlist update.

I’m having those problems, but my PC and its OS aren’t that old.

I’d Honestly have no issue with the store or many of the other progression (battlepass, challenges) related issues if they literally had just slapped halo reach’s exact progression/customisation system in Infinite. Playing games and earning commendations and actually being rewarded for playing well! Instead, I could carry the team in slayer or swat (tactical slayer) with a 25-0 KD and get zero reward for it if I dont have a challenge at the time that specifies “10 kills with the AR” or “20 Kills with the BR” . And the daily 300xp down to 50xp per game with the daily is abysmal. I know they’ve mentioned making proper fixes for the progression among everything else the community has mentioned. But I just dont understand how they have strayed so far from the things that made halo great. Like all the things that the community have been complaining about are staples to what Halo is. So how can a company who are technically closer to halo than anyone else, get it so wrong? The gameplay is awesome (minus a few bugs but to be expected) , campaign story was captivating, But multiplayer is just cooked. why didnt they add all the playlists to choose from at the start? As a community so many people Dont like certain playlists so why launch the game with “quickplay” only that forces you to play in a loop of games you may not like? while also hoping you get a game for the challenges you need to complete to actually rank up. I know that thats semi fixed now in the way of being able to choose what mode you want for the most part which is awesome! but still. My major point is they removed a bunch of staples that made halo, halo and now they’re going to drip feed it all back to us “OvEr ThE NeXt 10 YeaRS” because this is the “FuTurE Of HalO”. Bring back Reach Progression and its original customization items, leave your shop as it is if you must, I have no issue with 343i making money if there is a solid foundation to the game. Then after the fact create a battle pass system/dlc that introduces lets say Halo 3 armour? buy for $30 then you have new armour to buy with the credits you earned as you unlock them throughout that battle pass.

But thats just my rant/two cents on the issue, I still play it and love it, but idk how some of these major game loop type things slipped through the gaps…

I guess getting the #1 FPS for free is not enough, you want all the content they’ve scheduled for the next 5 years on the first day as well.

Get a grip…

The maps aren’t great, custom games are broken, Forge and Firefight aren’t here yet, playlists still feel limited, armor and colors are locked to armor cores, emblems and other items are separated, the color system is worse, lag and hit-detection issues are frequent, the Big Team Battle playlist is broken, items in the store are overpriced, the campaign is overpriced since it’s very lacking (which is apparently because they had to cut 2/3rds of it), co-op isn’t here yet, several weapons aren’t balanced, and vehicles flip over too easily.

I’d rather pay full price and get a finished game. but hey if you enjoy having your games cut up and spoon fed back to you for $20 a bite then have at it pal.

and I never said I wanted all the content day 1. I said I’d rather earn it through winning games and playing well over completing challenges or buying battelpass levels. With 343’s logic any player with a wallet can just buy all the unlockable content day 1 soo… I’d happily take Halo Reach’s grind over infinites any day because at least that was more gratifying to the player and you could tell who actually earned the armor they we’re wearing.

The maps aren’t great

90% of them are just symmetrical arena style maps with 3 lanes which may be great for their competitive HCS but damn do they get repetitive and mind numbing.

custom games are broken

I figured once the game was “released” we’d at least be able to create lobbies with custom equipment on start like grappling hooks with unlimited uses but this option in the settings is randomly missing(even though you can edit this in the bot training mode) I just want some spiderman ctf games but -yoink- me right?

Forge and Firefight aren’t here yet

Honestly wasn’t even aware that we’d be getting firefight at all.

playlists still feel limited

Infection and griffball would’ve been great to break up the gameplay a bit

armor and colors are locked to armor cores, emblems and other items are separated, the color system is worse

The entire armor customization/progression system as we know it has been completely butchered in the name of f2p… the fact so many people can just turn a blind eye to it blows my mind. Yes the gameplays great(even though it still has some glaring issues) but these features greatly extend a games shelf life which with the claims of “this being the halo for the next 10 years” you think they’d have thought maybe we shouldn’t go full corporate commander on it and stick it all behind paywalls and completely remove all sense of progression. Again… if a player wanted to they could just drop a $1000 and have everything in the game.

the campaign is overpriced since it’s very lacking (which is apparently because they had to cut 2/3rds of it)

Doesn’t surprise me… the entire top right quarter of the map is locked away behind a soft kill barrier because they we’re too lazy to put a few extra fobs and collectibles around. Now its just a big desolate half filled in environment which a couple mission markers sat on it.

People say it was a great campaign but honestly mission wise I felt like there we’re 2 or 3 missions that actually progressed the story and the rest is just go to x,y,z, shoot this overpowered enemy filler. Good god I got sick of every hallway level having locked doors requiring power cores… or having to travel to each corner of the map to collect “data”.

and vehicles flip over too easily.

Don’t even get me started on this… not only does it flip ridiculously easy but it was like the environment artists saw any section that wasn’t a road and thought “hmm… I know what this needs! a 1000 jagged rocks!” I gave up on ground vehicles and just grappled everywhere since I’d rather not do a lap of the map just to get up a hill. Once the wasp was unlocked I never touched the ground again unless I had to. Driving a razorback full of marines with volatile skewers is fun for a while but yeah… scenic routes and constantly flipping ended that fun pretty quickly.

Yeah.
They’re also not good for vehicles.

I also hoped to be able to do that.

I think people said the game files have some voice lines from the announcer for Firefight, but I can’t remember.

Rocket Race would’ve also been nice if they fixed the vehicles.

It isn’t even better than previous games in what can be customized.

Story-wise, it wasn’t that bad, but most of the cutscenes are just Master Chief talking to the Weapon and Echo 216, and there weren’t many good and memorable events.

Also, yeah, the power seeds felt pointless.

The map is definitely far too jagged.
I still drive the Razorback, but it’s only for the Marines.
If there was a Hornet or Pelican, I’d probably only use the Grappleshot when I’m on the ground.

You’re not wrong there… I rarely touch em anymore. The wasp and ghost can be fun at times but the amount of stun weapons that can cross map you will drive you nuts.

I also hoped to be able to do that.

Now custom games just sit there unused since if I’m gonna be playing pretty vanilla halo modes then I may as well be getting xp for it.

Rocket Race would’ve also been nice if they fixed the vehicles.

Mann I forgot rocket race even existed… I would’ve played the -yoink- out of that.

Nowhere near… but it has the ability to be which -yoinks- me off even more… The bots can have cross core customization so why tf can’t we. Oh thats right… money

If there was a Hornet or Pelican, I’d probably only use the Grappleshot when I’m on the ground.

I did just discover recently that its possible to fly the pelican using a glitch which was pretty cool.

I still use vehicles.
Especially the Ghost, but the Warthog and Chopper often flip, and the Banshee needs bigger maps.
Also, on the map Launch Site, vehicles are very limited.
The Wasp can’t even fly around without hitting barriers.

Yeah.
It doesn’t help that they seem to be broken, and bots don’t always spawn correctly or at all if you go above 7 bots.

It’s unfortunate that modes like that aren’t in the game yet.

Well, I’m not sure if or where it was said, but some people on the forum here have said that 343 will be adding cross-core customization I think, which is good if true.
Since they might be changing that, I’m hoping we’ll see the ability to use coatings on each armor piece at some point.

I tried that, but I couldn’t get it to save, so it didn’t work for me.
Maybe I need to be at a specific FOB.
