For all the players defending 343i and the decisions they've made

Ah yes! More personal opinions!

Love those videos that have “Killing” in the title, makes me laugh seeing it. Kids these days are hilarious.

The only halo game that actually had a rank progression was halo reach I agree they should’ve done it that way but yeah with the battle pass at less you get 166 rewards over getting nothing like in old halo games. But what do you expect with battle passes it’s like that for all games that have it unfortunately :man_shrugging:t2:

A large majority of those rewards though are challenge swaps and double xp rewards  not to mention they’ve split shoulders to two separate items AND managed to split emblems into like 8? (1 for each weapon and vehicle) oh and the fact you gotta unlock every single armor colour multiple times for different armor cores. All of which can’t be earned by just playing the game but by jumping through very specific hoops that these challenges set for players.

There’s also the added slap in the face of not including items like emiles or jorges shoulders in the bp since they’ll likely charge us an extra $20 each just for those like the knife chest piece that shouldve been included since I don’t know… the thing was called “Heroes of reach battlepass” not 90% of the heroes of reach

Well most of these “kids” are in there 30’s and have grown up with the entire halo franchise. You can’t be too surprised when they get salty when the game as they’ve known it has been chopped up into pieces and spoon fed back to them for $20 a pop. Can’t imagine why a lot of them would rather not sacrifice their beloved franchise because some execs and shareholders could smell that sweet sweet f2p money and couldn’t help but be greedy.

I agree with all of it the new Mets of micro transactions and battle passes is bs. The only thing to do is don’t buy it then they’ll learn, but when they release a cool pear of cat ear helmets everyone spends their money you wouldn’t catch me spending a dime on anything but the battle pass. Only bc if not for the battle pass you don’t really get any rewards. It’s people who need to stop buying micro transactions then they’ll learn but “oh uwu cat ears I need to spend $20 bucks for uwu cat ears”:man_shrugging:t2: People are dumb

Sadly from what I’ve seen in game though a lot of people don’t care and just continue to spend more money than a decent meal on a single piece of armor because “cat ears hehe” the emblems that come with it are just laughably pointless as well other than to serve as a filler to give the illusion these “bundles” actually have $20 worth of content.

Back in the day you’d spend $20 or more and expect a full bundle of new maps in return… oh how the times have changed. Now I gotta pay just for progression and armor customization -yoink- me

The fact players can just buy battlepass levels as well completely undercuts any satisfaction in earning your armor yourself. I laugh when I see people in lvl 100 gear that get 3 kills for 15 deaths… can’t help but shame them in chat asking how many $100’s of dollars they spent on levels.

Bro I do the same when I see those players I would txt them in chat like “ sooo… did you get level 100 on your own or did you pay to win your way up there… just curious” I did the math to buy all the levels it’s about 1k in money… and when I was playing on week 3 people were already 100 and that was before the exp update…. I’m currently level 74 and that’s only bc of the xp update and I don’t get why people pay for levels when you can just do challenges those people are the idiots that make micro transactions still a thing. Putting hard work is always better in the end when you’ve got all the reward with the hard work paying for levels isn’t fun and a waste of money. Another example mister chief love it it’s cool I want it but I’m not spending $20 bucks for an Al and ai color and emblems I’d rather get a dlc that’s a flood campaign

So you don’t want to discuss the title of your post or provide any of your own contextualized commentary on the matter?

If I wanted an assignment, I would’ve stayed in high school. I’m looking for a discussion.

literally… I’ll stick with my superintendent ai I actually earned from completing bs challenges and not further support greedy monetization’s. I miss when the main method for leveling up and earning items was to be good at the game or dedicate time/effort and aim to win the match rather than spending it trying to give 5 back massages to the enemy and costing your team the match since most the time you’ll be rewarded less for actually playing the objective.

A lot of popular streamers I’ve seen just dropped the $1000 since they don’t care they just want shiny content to show the kiddies. Now I just associate people in higher level armor as nooby sellouts since 90% of the time they play like garbage. I’m at level 88 in the bp now and thats just been from playing my 6 daily games with an xp boost, completing a few challenges then leaving after getting sick of latency issues affecting melee fights and dying from bullets curving around corners

No I just got sick of making long posts for sheep who support the current progression/armor system to reply with “just don’t play the game then” I’d rather not put in more effort into a post than 343 put into their entire game

Here’s what I would say to the players defending 343 and the decisions they’ve made:

Video games are becoming worse, and by defending the decisions made like the ones for this game, they’re going to continue to become worse.
You might not mind, but eventually, most people are going to quit playing AAA video games, and the companies who rely on people buying their AAA video games will crash.
That means you won’t have anymore AAA video games to play.

It is what it is.

I think they’ve done a pretty good job presenting a palatable plate.

Making money on non-pay to win is perfect.

The battle pass seems fun. I’ve ticked over to 35 without even trying.

Agree with the gentle disgruntle about the prices being too high… but who wouldn’t want things a bit cheaper.

I’ve splurged on Daisy’s bear and the T-bag weapon dongle thingy. No regrets.

We all want to go back to the “good old days”… but that’s life. Play on.

More complaining about the store. Nothing of value here.

Well seeing how the store has butchered the progression and armor customization systems I’d say its fair to complain about.

Thanks for your clearly more valuable comment which contributed absolutely nothing to the discussion.

I think they’re just saying there are already a lot of topics about this, and that nothing was said that hasn’t already been said.
If they had something new to say about why it’s bad, it would be good, but as it is, there isn’t.
We’re basically just waiting to see what 343 is going to do in January, so there’s not too much point in that.

Oh my bad. Sorry about adding nothing to a topic that is so clearly original and well thought out. Thank god you made a topic about youtubers talking about the store, because nobody before today has mentioned anything about it.

You get it.

Well I hate to beat the dead horse but 343 are notorious for just sweeping things under the rug if they think they can get away with it which by the number of sales they’re getting through the store and the people on the forums going “you just play the game for fun” while turning a blind eye to shady EA style practices then we aren’t going to be getting any actual changes

Nothing of value here, OP has no argument of his own.

Go look at the countless posts I’ve made about this exact issue raising both points from the videos and from what I’ve experienced myself. Been talking about it since day 1 of the flights… Sorry if I’m a bit over writing my own ‘original’ points on here. We’ve had a 6 month flight, an apparent “beta” and the biggest changes we’ve got is a little extra xp for our first 6 games and the ability to search for a few extra modes… bfd

This isn’t the Halo 5 pay to win model. You’re trading $ for skins. That’s it.
As far as changes go. There are multiple post holiday updates already announced for both the shop and gameplay/playlists. Since the devs are on break we will have to wait a bit longer.

Go look at the countless posts I’ve made about this exact issue

Why not comment on those posts to keep them alive instead of making “Ctrl+C” “Ctrl+V” posts tho?

I know what you mean, since I’ve seen it happen with other companies, but I haven’t seen that happen myself with 343, so I’m willing to wait another month or two to see if they change the things that people are complaining about.

Though, I guess I have also still been complaining…

It’s more in the style of…I don’t know, Ubisoft? Capcom? Activision?
I can’t remember since I’ve avoided their games somewhat, but it’s probably one of those.

At least halo 5 gave players the option to grind and earn req packs for completing games (not just challenges) without being forced to pay irl money… Which I by no means support and even called out req backs from the halo 5 flights for being loot boxes but with infinite they are locking armor behind a $20 pricetag that should have at least been included in the already paid for battepass. Where tf is emile and jorges shoulder pieces? and why was the reach chest piece with the knife a store only item. The decision to introduce “cores” and splitting emblems/colors to each weapon/vehicle was also another shameless act of creating even more sellable content for the least effort. The fact you have to buy the same color multiple times just rubs me so wrong
