Your AI buddies sure do seem to be completely -Yoinking!- inept. Anyone tried legendary solo? The three Musketeers will run headlong into enemy fire to save you without defending themselves, resulting in their death and you being sent back to the last checkpoint, and when there aren’t any threats near you they’ll take the longest route to you possible, ensuring your slow death; or they’ll just ignore you. They often push you out from behind cover and into enemy fire, killing you. If you try to use a vehicle as a stationary turret to pick off enemies from a distance (this isn’t new to Halo, but at least before we could easily kill off the marines before they kamikazed us), they’ll happily jump in and deliver you unto the enemy guns. The extra bullet catchers are quaint and all, but I have found myself more often than not killing them intentionally so that I won’t have anyone in my way, and even hitting start and selecting resume from last checkpoint because it’s faster than waiting for those three ratards to mosy on over. I’ve only noticed an escalation in skill of enemy AI on higher difficulties, the musketeers might as well have brought knives to an alien gun fight though. I wish it was just part of the game, meant to show the skill of the new Spartans in contrast with the old, alas, they’re just complete garbage. What kind of -Yoink–kissing do those testers pull when they’re reporting on the game’s performance? With all of the other awesomeness of the game, you’d think they’d have developed one of the main selling points a little more. Blue Team was supposed to be epic, but this just makes me hate them for being so -Yoink- and disappointing my expectations built up by the books.
Ugh. I hate my AI team as well. Sooooo useless on Legendary Solo.
