Let me start off by saying, I have been a Halo fan from the very start, I have purchased every single halo game and all dlc. Champions bundle…I think I will pass on this. I have been let down waaay too much already. I purchased the war games map pack pass, you would never know it though because it never comes up when I play. Most of the armor choices freaking SUCK. No individual customization on individual helmets, or armor which was a step backwards from Reach. Now the champions bundle…seen pictures of spartans wearing a helmet that looks like a freaking football helmet?? Are you f’ing kidding me 343!! Do you guys not have any creative people there? Most the current helmets are freaking ugly, it really is a shame, all of the cool looking armor and helmet ideas left along with Bungie.
I want the next Halo to succeed…but I will not support any more DLC which at this point should be free just to get people to maybe come back and play. I would probably not even mind if all previous DLC which I already paid for became free! Anything just so that I have greater chances at actually playing the maps I downloaded. This champions bundle should be free… I mean we got short changed in these “map packs” which released one for mostly 4 vs 4 maps and then a separated one for big team, as far as I am concerned those maps should have been combined into a single map pack. Way to try and nickle and dime all of the loyal halo fans that up until now were used to map packs including both small maps and large maps as part of the map pack. Can’t believe in a few months it will be one year since release… you would think by the active population that it had been at least 3 years by now Please do not let the fans down for the next installment of Halo. If you have to consult with Bungie to get their input on what they learned of our likes and dislikes, well do what you have to do!

Wow, what’s with all the non-constructive rants this morning?
The helmet goes with the new gametype which has similarities to American Football - it looks like a fun one-off type of helmet (like hyabusa in Halo 3) and I, for one, am looking forward to trying it out.
If you don’t want to buy it that’s up to you - no one’s making you buy it, but calling for it all to be released for free is a waste of time. Remember these DLC cost money to produce, they need to cover the costs somehow.
Forge Island does not even begin to make up for the rip-off that were the already released “map packs.” Forge Island was a community made idea as well, I paid for my war games pass, I would not even care if everyone got those maps for free at this point just so that I could actually play the darn maps! There are so many awesome user created designs for armor and helmets going around the internet, I find it disappointing that 343 would not even consider them, look up the viking design, and the spartan design helmets…those are freaking cool looking. Maybe they should hire new talent at 343. I mean, new armor they are releasing are remakes of armor in previous games (which should have been included in the begining) The only new and original one will be the forerunner one, who ever came up with that one good freaking job. The Football helmet one just seems lazy to me…I expect more from Halo, but I guess I just miss Bungie, they actually cared about fans, (Bungie day, free armor updates, good patches, Bungie.net…etc) It is too bad they decided to move on (I suspect MS is at fault for that)

Yes, and I expected 3 ACTUAL map packs which should have included big and small maps in each map pack. Not 2 Map Packs stretched out as 3…

I don’t get it, they weren’t stretched out as 2, 343i stated they have 3 maps each, that’s what they have.
I have an idea too bolster the number of people would have the DLC so we can play said DLC after a few months. Take a page from Halo 2’s DLC. Charge for it at first but then after a few months release for free. The hardcore fans will purchase it day one whilst the casual fan will wait for it to go free. This way the DLC won’t disappear from playlist.
Again, another forum post demanding the champions bundle to be free with the war games pass, I have the war games pass before you start, and it did clearly state that the war games pass was for the first three DLC pack for Halo 4 “crimson, majestic and castle” - so no it shouldn’t be free, besides 800 ms points for a bundle of two maps, 4 new pieces of armor, a load of weapon skins, new stances and 2 weeks early access to the new ricochet gametype is worth the money, it’s a good piece of DLC

Get over it. They’re offering people DLC it’s not mandatory.
And you are not entitled to get it for free. I have the war games pass, and I fully understood it covered three map packs. Three map packs have been and gone. I don’t understand why anyone would think it would cover a fourth. It said three map packs, this is map pack number four. Four comes after three.
I’ve bought every DLC to date, for every Halo game. Therefor, the next Halo game should come entirely free to me, right? Wrong. They’re separate things. Buying one does not give you access to the other. Same thing.

OK, lets deal with this in order of where I highlighted:
The map packs were not a rip off, you are just unlucky enough to be matched up/not playing with friends who have the map packs. It was the same in previous Halo games (except Halo 3 which eventually made most playlist DLC required). I get them regularly because I team up with people who have the map packs to increase the chances of them showing. By doing this I got nothing but DLC choices 6 games in a row yesterday in Action Sack. Try it, you wouldn’t believe the difference.
Aa has already been stated by a previous post, the Ricochet armour was made to coincide with the new Ricochet gametype. ITs a sports theme for the new fast-paced, sport style gametype. Its not a requirement to wear it, so you don’t have to if you don’t want to. ITs really not that big of a deal.
If 343 didn’t care about the fan base, then why did they listen to feedback and fix various things? The weapon tuning, return of classic armours, new weapon skins and many other aspects they have fixed are all due to them listening to the fans. Sure they could have been done sooner, I’m not denying that. But the fact is you act like they don’t listen but they do. Bungie were good to halo, but thats the main word there: they WERE. Bungie are gone and not coming back. Slating a development team like 343 about their first real game is not the way to go. Constructive criticism is the best way, explain why something is wrong and how to fix it so it doesn’t happen again. Hell, even Bungie have had to deal with stuff like that since Halo CE.
Microsoft had something to do with Bungie leaving Halo? Are you serious? You obviously don’t know much, or you would know that Microsoft has ALWAYS owned all licencing and copyrights to the Halo franchise since they acquired Bungie in 2000. Or that Bungie were under contract with Microsoft to develop 5 Halo games for the Xbox/Xbox 360 platforms. That contract expired in 2007 when Bungie began to develop Halo Reach right after Halo 3 was released. From then on, Bungie were not fully associated with Microsoft after that period, only to provide DLC/online support for Halo games. They were a completely independent development company. When Microsoft created its own development team (343 Industries), ALL aspects of Halo were transferred to Microsoft, as were the terms of the contract.

At least this means im not the only one who still plays video games just for the sake of fun every now and then. For me, fun in halo is going into a game with no intention of winning, but to rather to cause as much havoc for the other team as i can get away with, laughing maniacally while i play
