Fonts

Okay, let’s get this topic started.

I’m trying to find the old font that Bungie used for the flavor text on the back of Halo 3’s case, as well as the subtitle. I used to have it on an older computer of mine, but forgot to back up my fonts before wiping that drive and switching over to my current one. If I remember correctly, it was called something along the lines of Newton Gothic. Unfortunately, all attempts at Bing/Google have ended with no leads. I have browsed extensively through many font sites with no luck.

In an effort to not be a total leech, if anyone was curious as to what the font used in Hal: Reach’s subtitle and flavor text, it is [TV Nord.

Could any kind gent point me in the right direction?](Font Family Page)

I know this is really old (almost 5 years after wow), but I’ve also been recently trying to find the font that Bungie used for the subtitles. And I think even the Master Chief Collection uses it as well. Were you ever able to find it? I would try whatthefont.com. They have an automated algorithm that analyzes a picture of the text you upload to find the font. If that doesn’t work, you can even upload the image so that actual knowledgable people in the site community can look around for the font. I did that recently for the font used in the “original soundtrack” text on the Halo 3 soundtrack album cover, and someone found the font within 2 days.

P.S:
If you’d like to know, that Halo 3 “original soundtrack” font is ITC Conduit -Yoink!- Medium. Everything is the same, except the lower case g.

Edit: The font that Bungie used for labels/subtitles, and the font of the 343 Industries logo, is apparently the same: Handel Gothic by Bit Stream, though there are other versions of the font with very subtle differences.

Edit 2: In fact, Handel Gothic by Bit Stream is actually the exact font used for the Halo Combat Evolved Menu, as well as the original manual, etc. Same with the rest of the Halo games’ text material.
