Whatever happened to the Focus rifle?I thought it was fun.

Yes its a good weapon but its very annoying sometimes especially when you get killed by it.
No i know it is still in Reach, I meant what happened to it outside of Reach. Sorry for the confusion
I’m sorry for pooping on this party but I actually didn’t like the focus rifle because it took time to burn through the shields and wasn’t a headshot weapon, which kinda goes against snipers being quick and painless

I personally like it when going up against a banshee, but that’s all I can really think of in terms of use
I don’t know. But I hope it gets added in a Halo 6 content update (IF it’s getting post-launch content like Halo 5 and because I believe it won’t be in the base game)
It was a one time weapon, like the plasma repeater, and will most likely not be making a showcase in other games die to it’s quick overheat and little ammo. Plus, it’s a more annoying version of the beam rifle.
I’m guessing one of the biggest reasons it didn’t reappear was due to the fact that it didn’t work very well online. That’s why you almost never see sentinel beams and flame grenades in matchmaking.

It actually takes quite a bit to overheat and it has a good amount of ammo, not to mention that it does very good damage if you’re capable of keeping your crosshair in the enemy.

Halo 2 Jackal Snipers flashbacksHonestly, I think it’s less annoying, because you have a chance to survive unlike the Beam Rifle which does the same damage of the Sniper Rifle and can fire in a quick succession. I believe that if the Focus Rifle was in Halo 2 instead of the Beam Rifle, the levels with Jackals Snipers would be easier.
The sound is irritating but I like using it.
