Focus Rifle Confirmed

If you look at the new ViDoc from this weeks bulletin you will see the focus rifle as the second weapon that chief is holding Here.

Also what is that weapon Chief is using there? Is it a new weapon or is it the Incineration Cannon? I havn’t seen it yet so I don’t know.

Bacon Gun !!!

> Bacon Gun !!!

I just watched some incineration cannon footage so i know its not that now so it must be a new weapon yaaaaaay!

It does look good for cooking me some bacon

“mmmmmmmm bacoooon” drools

I wouldn’t say confirmed, but it’s looking plausible that it will be in the game, same with sentinel beam (AKA LAZOR EYES!)

Also… BACON WAVE!

This has been discussed so many times it isn’t funny, the clip in the video is a proof of concept video from 2010 and the entire HUD is the reach HUD, it’s hardly an indication of the focus rifle returning.

First off that was from a very old build of the game, back were they were using Reachs assets to test the game, if you paid attention you would notice the armor chief is wearing is from reach and the jackals models are reachs as well. Secondly the weapon was a prototype weapon and was either a prototype to the Scatter Shot or the Surpressor. If it is still there then it hasn’t been revealed yet.

Thank you for at least someone understanding that…

So lame to see so many people jumping up when it was merely reuse of Halo Reach UI. Didn’t any of them saw HALO 4 PROTOTYPE in the right corner of the video when this clip show?

They used the Focus Rifle as a dummy for gun.

5:05 in the video, interests me. A bit of variation looks good.

The build is very old. It was prototyping weapons. The weapon shown is not in the game.

And it looks like the whole HUD is Reach, so it is very likely that the Focus Rifle was a placeholder or has been cut since then.

Bacon Gun same thing

I believe there was something about the focus rifle being the placeholder in Reach when the player has no weapons (thats why when you go into forge ball mode you can sometimes see and fire the focus rifle). Top that off with the old reach HUD and that being old prototype footage we can probably rule out the focus rifle

The biggest proof of this is the bit that says Halo Prototype at the top right corner.

That’s a prototype of Halo 4 from 2010. And it fires and looks nowhere near like the Focus Rifle.

The weapon the chief is holding (the icon of which, is NOT the Focus Rifle icon in the top right, rather a bulky lumpy icon covered up by the “HALO 4 PROTOTYPE” label is likely a placeholder or unannounced weapon. We see it in several renders of the Knights yet have not seen it in-game other than that Proof of Concept clip. If it was that fully realized back in 2010, you’d think it would be finished by now.

Back to the image, both the build and the HUD in that image are from 2010. They have changed drastically. So no, it is not confirmation of the Focus Rifle in any way. And since it hasn’t been a single trace of it in any recent gameplay, it’s rather safe to assume it will not be in the final game.

I’ve seen so many threads on this in just the last couple of hours and it’s simply tiring. If there’s one thing that hasn’t changed about the Halo community since Bungie.net days it’s that people still don’t use the search bar.
