This is my final Halo Reach montage that I am putting out. Halo Reach was probably the worst Halo game ever made, but I tried everyday to enjoy the game.
Please don’t give me crap, I just threw the clips into the montage, threw a song on, did some editing and here it is.
Wondering If I can get some feedback. I want to start getting good with editing and stuff and want to know what you think and what I can do better.
Also this is a new capture card I got called the Roxio Game Capture HD and want to know if the quality is ok?
Also I used Sony Vegas 11 and am wondering if there are other programs that I could use to make montages better.
Not available via mobile… Would get more views if you change settings a bit. Usually has to do with the music I’m told.
The picture quality is good and the camera movements looked very fluid. I loved the picks that you selected for the montage.
There is a point in the first song where it goes, “I raise my flag.” I would recommend editing a CTF moment there, maybe someone taking the flag. But the again, maybe that’s already overdone.
I really liked the silence you left at the end of the first song. Having that section end with the announcer saying “Killing Frenzy” just works. It would also have been good to have that section end with the chuckle that your character makes from time to time with a kill.
The transition into the second section with I’m assuming you doing commentary was good. It carrying me into that section well. Not sure if you intended it, but the announcer in the transition from the second to third songs was nice. The various announcements seem to work with the beat of the music.
Overall, I liked the music selection, but I would recommend not ending a “final” montage with a song like “Back in Black”. To me, that song is better for a returning video. Instead, maybe consider something that oozes goodbye and see you on the next great journey.
And ending it with a fading “double kill” just didn’t have the impact as the “killing frenzy” at the end of the first section. Depending on if you used it already at the end of the first section, I may even recommend a kill and a chuckle at the end of the entire montage. hehe.
I look forward to seeing what you do with Halo 4…assuming that that is what you are moving towards.
