Absurd. 343 is so incompetent they can not adjust unreasonable commendations. Plasma pistol master requires the same kills as the magnum and boltshot?
Even worse I want the Commando FRCT armor but it requires flood victory master. I have 2 wins so far. Call me bad all you want, it is not going to help. I am terrible and it is an impossible task to come in first that many times. At least make it count as victory for the top 3.
I wouldn’t go so far as to call 343I incompetent. to their credit, the armor means something to those who have the tenacity to play that many flood games, and anyone who spent that time earning the permutation may be a little bummed to know that the conditions for getting it were toned down, were they to make it easier to get.
That said, I absolutely agree, that it is absurd to get that commendation that many times just for a variant of armor that is already hard to get (240 total dominion victories for the normal Commando Helm).
sadly, unless you just ignored the other posts about this and made a new thread, this particular thread has only been replied to by me thus far, and as such, likely won’t be receiving much attention.
on a side note, I’m still striving for the commando helm"s", despite their absurd conditions, I’m just not expecting to get them ever. heck, I only play halo 4 about once every few days anyway, no way I can grind like other halo fans and get it in a few months of dedicated play (nor would I want too).
hopefully in the future installments of halo, if commando is still around, it will have different, more accessible conditions for unlocking it. for now, it’s a novelty that us, under appreciated folks will have to admire from afar.
Honestly, I like the idea of actually working for my armor. It feels pretty satisfying.
I need a total of about 90 more victories for that armor. I’m so close. ‘w’
…ya see, now I wish I could trade commendations with other players, I’d be all “here, I’ll trade ya some perfection commendations for all your flood victories.” but no, I can’t have nice things…I don’t care much for the forearm piece for perfections…
There’s a difference between “working” for your armor and having to just grind something to the point of absurdity. Grinding is not fun. A lot of the armor strikes me as a really lazy way to try to get people to keep playing.

343 murdered Halo. First they don’t match you with ppl your own skill. Second they start you of in matches that are half way done an not to mention the losing side I’m getting over this stupid game. Yes but there’s a challenge and then there is madness. I mean the plasma pistol is incredibly difficult to get kills with.
If you don’t want to do the challenge that is set before you than don’t. If you want the satisfaction for achieving something not many others have done or ever will do then do it.
Reminds me of what happened to recon. Was once a beautiful armor set (H3) that was very hard to get and enough people complained so it became easy to get.
I don’t want that happening again. If you’re not willing to put forth the effort to earn it then you don’t diserve it. That’s really the problem with games nowadays both single player and MP alike. Gamers expect -Yoink- handed to them. Its sick.
If you are truly determined, then you will be able to get it. Flood takes some practice, but you just need to get the hang of it. After quite some no-lifing on my part I managed to get the armour.
I personally believe that the plasma pistol commendation is quite ridiculous too, but then again I have already encountered a few people with the armour permutation which has the Weapon Mastery requirement.
Just keep at it, and more importantly, have fun. Enjoy it. Take a relaxed attitude towards it, because if you get riled up, you’ll most likely lose (in my personal experience).

Except that what you posted wasn’t constructive, more like an attempt at slapping 343i’s face. You just basically said “OMG 343 Y U KIll HAlo?!”, rather than saying what you think is necessary to fix it.
For Plasma Pistol, you just gotta find a technique to finish it. I mastered it in a few days after I found out how to use it.
Flood is a hard mode to finish. I’ve still got about 70 wins left. It’s mostly hard because you don’t get a win unless you are the number 1 player. It’d be better IMO if you could get a win for each of the three rounds in a full round.
I personally like the challenge to get these armors. I do think some of the commendations could be better thought out though. Like wins for certain gametypes are a lot harder to get than in others. Like King of the Hill is hard to get a game now. And Tank is unreasonably hard because it is only on one gametype on one level. And I’ve still yet to find someone who has found a way to get the mongoose destroys.
I somehow got commando helmet without getting 250 dominion victories…pretty cool helmet, tbh
