I don’t know about the most of you but I know there are a small number of you that want this to happen just as much as I do. Ive formed ideas for a potential Flood Survival mode. And no, I wouldn’t want it to be based off of firefight since it’s the flood, I believe they deserve there own little thing. If they’re going to have firefight & something like a flood survival mode I believe they should be 2 seperate modes. Ok, so I was thinking the mode should have its own maps that arent in firefight or custom games rather have like 4 flood based maps. Meaning once you play these maps you’ll realize you are in a location infested with flood and everything in the scenery is scary and flood modified. You will start off with 100 points. Everytime you kill a flood it will give you 50 points. As for the little flood forms each kill for them will be 5 points. There will be things like perks to purchase in gameplay, putting your points to use:
Perks -

  • Sentinels (It will cost 700 points to allow you to spawn 3 friendly sentinels to fight alongside you. These sentinels can only survive with you so long and will take not much from the flood to destroy them.) - Enforcers (An enforcer sentinel will make a comeback since they were last appeared in Halo 2. It will cost you 1000 points to unleash a strong Enforcer to help you fight the flood. Those of you who played Halo 2 will know why 1000 is a reasonable exchange considering they are very strong, have jackal-like shields, and they fire grenades. It will take alot from the flood to take these down.) - Promethean Knight (This perk will allow you to turn into a Promethean Knight only up to a certain extent of time or until the flood kills you, then you return to normal. This will cost you 2000 points) - Helljumpers (This perk will cost you 1500 points. Purchasing this perk will allow you to call in 3 ODST’s armed with good weaponry such as Shotguns & Flamethrowers to drop down In drop pods and help you fight the flood. These guys can only last a little more longer than your sentinels. Once they are at their breaking point they are able to be infected by the flood) - Juggernaut (This perk will allow your overshields to increase 3x stronger and will take the flood a challenge to take this perk from you. Along with the strong over shields will give you an unlimited plasma shooting minigun. The juggernaut will cost you 2000 points.) - Flood Repellent (This perk will cost 700 points. This can be like a cure for the flood but not canon to the story because we already know there is no cure for the flood. It can only be used when you’re on the verge of being infected. I forgot to mention earlier once all your overshields are down and are about to die, infection forms are able to convert you to flood. You can use it on yourself or if you see a fellow player being infected.) - Bubble Shield (This perk is very similar to the bubble shield In halo 3. It is flood proof and can be used to shelter yourself and friends from big and heavy waves of flood. Any flood that tries to get in, dies. It lasts for a minute and 30 seconds. This will cost you 500 points)Portals -

  • Portals in this mode will be used as gateways to other areas in the maps. Each portal will cost you 1500 points to permanently open for all. This idea was inspired by zombies.Extras -

  • Ordnance (It will cost you 600 points to call in an ordnance of diverse weapons & a crate of ammo) - Special Room (The special room will also be a portal but this portal only appears every 10 rounds and gives you 15 seconds to approach it. Hurry up and rush to the portals location. Inside the portal will be a room of weapons that the ordnance won’t give you. Including energy swords, gravity hammers, fuel rods, rocket launchers & even powerups like invisibility. Inside the room is also a limit of 10 seconds in which you can only be in so pick wisely & fast as it will teleport you back to the field)Those are the things you can use your points on. As the number of waves/rounds get bigger, the stronger and more amount of flood there will be. Every 7 rounds there will be a boss fight. Perhaps a juggernaut (the ones that were left out Halo 2). With a side of infected Spartans as the ones we played as in halo 4. Also, if you don’t have the Flood Repellent perk, you are able to get infected and play as a flood version of your spartan until one of your ex-team mates kills you. Then you will respawn normal again the next round.
