Flood Survival: Character selection, +More

There should be something new introduced in the Reclaimer Trilogy. There should be this thing on Halo 5’s Multiplayer/Infinity menu, that says “Quaratine”. What is Quaratine? Well, if you press it, you see a Campaign for it and a Flood Survival for it. But when you enter the Quaratine Menu, the screen turns yellow and floodish. It also plays different music that sounds like it fits in with the Flood. Ok what is the campaign about? A Spartan IV team called “Fireteam Quaratine”, and their jobs are usually to take out any flood contacts. You play as your spartan and throughout the campaign, you play with 7 more people. The team has 8 people. So you can have some help all the time. But in some missions, you can play by yourself. Well anyways, the campaign can be about Fireteam Quaratine taking out the flood. The UNSC Infinity is on the second Ark or Installation 03 and pass by an area full of flood. The flood notice the ship and begin launching eggs on the infinity and pods of flood forms up there. They infest infinity and Fireteam Quaratine clear it out. While they’re doing their job, Commander Palmer is guarding Captain Lasky. She then requests help from fireteam crimson. Fireteam Crimson show up and Commander Palmer gets knocked out by a Spartan Flood. Later on… Palmer wakes up and notices something about her body. She’s feeling weird and feels like something is in her stomach spreading. . . . So on and so on. I’ll put scripts for the cutscenes in the reply section. Anyways, now for flood survival. In flood survival, you survive rounds of challenging flood. Every ten rounds, you have to face a Flood Boss. Flood Survival comes with flood infested maps and the more you play and do stuff in survival, the more maps you can unlock. Also there could be a character selection. Even unlock characters. The first 4 characters that are unlocked or you start with are: Your spartan, ODST, Sgt. Johnson, and shipmaster. As you play and complete challenges for Survival, you unlock characters like Arbiter, Didact, and more. Master Chief can be the last character to unlock. Even find terminals on info about flood. But not watchable during gameplay. You can watch them on Quaratine Menu. Also just like in Reach’s firefight, you were able to play as an elite. Well, in Flood Survival in Split Screen, some people can play as survivors, some can play as Infected Heroes: Infected Palmer, Infected Spartan, Infected Master Chief, Infected Elite, and more. Yeah?? Sound good? And in the Spartan Ops section… there can be a firefight in there.

Mission 1 Cutscene Script:

Infinity’s Location: The Ark II(Passing by a zone of flood)

Captain Lasky: So this is the second Ark, huh?

Fireteam Crimson Spartan: Sir, why are we even here?

Lasky: Here is where Jul M’dama will fire all the halo rings. If he does that, every living thing will die. Also, the Master Chief has encountered a new enemy similar to the Prometheans and… Nevermind. There’s alot of reason why we are here. We still got to get that other Janice key from Jul. And also, there’s 2 didacts and one of them is the one we met on Requiem. Apparantly, he’s still alive. Anyways, we are going to war. Fireteam Crimson, i’m sending you down there, too. We are all in this. Us. Marines, Spartans, Master Chief, Arbiter, and his elites…we are all in this together.

Fireteam Crimson: Sir, yes, sir!

Palmer: Crimson… gear up. You heard the captain. We are going to war.

Infinity’s Pilots: Uhh… Sir. You might wanna take a look at this…

Palmer: What… the hell are those?

Lasky: Parasites… flood. Looks like they’re creating forms of flood.

Palmer: Wait… what are those things doing?

Infinity’s pilots: Sir! They’re launching eggs to the Infinity! We got to do something!

Lasky: Hold on… let me think… hang on…

Palmer: Sir, does Crimson still go to war with the Forerunners and covies? Or do they stay here?

Lasky:…They go to war. Where’s our Quaratine Team???

Quaratine Team: -Walking in- Right here, sir. We are ready for combat.

Lasky: Spartans! There you are! You and several other Parasite Killing team are going to protect inifinity! Hear me?

Quaratine Team: Yes, Sir!

Quaratine Team Leader: Alright, spartans. Let’s kick some parasite -Yoink-!

Lasky: Quaratine Team, head to the decks. Defend the decks and make sure no flood gets in!

Quaratine Team: Yes, sir!

Quaratine Leader: You heard him, move it, spartans!!!

Infinity Pilots: Too late, sir, the flood has gotten deeper into the infinity! They got passed through the decks!

Lasky: … That’s what our other teams are for! Still… Quaratine, defend the decks and make sure no more gets in!

Ehhh… i think i did a bad job. But i’m trying?!! Feel free to post your own scripts or edit mine!

It would be awesome. People need to read my forum thread

Mission 1 Gameplay Script:
Location: Infinity’s Decks
Character: Quaratine Team - Quaratine Spartan 6

Quaratine Team Leader: Alright, Spartans. We’re here. Let’s clean this mess up.

Quaratine Team Spartan #2: Gross. Look at these sick parasites. Die!-Shoots the flood with a shotgun-

-After 8 minutes of clearing out the flood-

Quaratine Leader: We’re almost done, spartans. Don’t give up. Spartan 6(You), go push the button to close the deck doors.

Spartan 6:Yes, sir.

-You then walk to the room to close the deck doors.-

Spartan 6: I closed the first one. The second one ain’t closing!?!?!?

Quaratine Leader: Why?

Spartan 6: I don’t know, sir.

Spartan 5: Wait, what the hell is that?

Quaratine Team: -Looking at the second door-

Quaratine Leader: Look, team! Theres a giant flood creature forcing the door not to close!!

Spartan #2: Oh, hell! 8 Arms??? This thing is about 15 Feet wide and 10 feet high! What the hell is this thing, sir!?!?!

Quaratine Leader: I don’t know. But whatever it is, we gotta kill it!

Flood Creature: -Gets its arm and stabs it through a marine’s chest-

Marine: Agghhhhh! -dies-

Flood Creature: -picks up marine and eats him-

Quaratine Team Leader: What the hell!?!

How to kill it: Shoot it’s legs off and then shoot the hell outta it. Then it weakens and you have to run up to it, press x and you plant a grenade in its mouth.

-after 10 minutes of killing he creature-

Quaratine Leader: Good Job, Quaratine Team. We did well. But it’s not over. Close the door.

This would be soo awesome! An objective based flood firefight is one of the best things 343 could add!

So basically, a flood firefight with some cutscenes?

No… ^ if you complete the campaign for “Quaratine” you unlock flood survival.

Mission 2 Cutscene:

palmer and lasky are firing at flood

Palmer: I can’t hold any longer, sir! There’s more and more coming! Call some back-up i’m almost out of ammo!

Scene switches to Quaratine Team

Quaratine Team leader: Looks like the other spartan teams cleaned up infinity… but wait. Spartans on top of the infinity…the flood is destroying our guns. Let’s go clean that mess up, now. Also, we’re not doing it on foot. We’re taking hornets.

Palmer: Too late…

Infection Team: Sir…

Lasky: Yes, spartans… go to Earth and secure it!!!

Infection Team: Yes, sir!!

Lasky: I will send all Spartan teams…

Love the idea, but a few things…

(Note, this is constructive criticism)

-The UNSC Infinity has been breached by a few flood pods. Do you realize this ship has the shielding and armor to withstand crashing into a Covenant cruiser and not having any problem with it? I highly doubt the flood could breach easily if at all unless a gravemind strategically infected personel on the ground with spores and kept the infection dormant until the host got to a place to give the chances of the infection spreading an upper hand.

-Palmer’s infection. That’s one way of pleasing the anti-Palmer fans.

-You do realize the flood infection and transformation is unrealistic and even moreso when the infected are growing to ten feet tall within seconds. Where do they get that supply of biomass to do so? I would rather game play not be like Resident Evil nor Dead Space when we fought bosses/special enemies.

-The UNSC has vague information about the Bornstellar Didact as they have limitted sources to access the data mainframe of the Halos/other forerunner installations. The only way they could have some information would have been through Halsey or the installation’s monitors. Plus, no evidence has been given to either Didact still being alive current Halo timeline.

-Playing as the Didact or Sgt. Johnson. Well that is quite a drastic change in battlefield effectiveness. I recommend just sticking to normal spartans/elites.

-I doubt there is more than one Spartan IV team with a name that relates to diseases/viruses/parasites. Though Fire Team Quarantine is an awesome name ;).

-Sure this is fiction, but no matter what you do in the military, you never swear in front of your superiors unless they’re chill with it.

-The flood is under a single mind, no single infected form thinks for it, only a gravemind which doesn’t even think for it, it just is a bridge and beacon for the flood to share information between each host and sharpen its mind. Basically there can’t be an infected Palmer commanding the flood. Plus, her memories involving her friendship with Lasky would have been deleted. The flood only keeps necessary memories to be transferred between their telepathic network.

Anyways, I love this idea you’ve come up with and I love your idea of creating a new type of innovation for Halo fans really seem to like. I just made the comments above to give you an insight about how some of your current script conflicts with canon, but otherwise I’d love it if 343i actually included it.

Keep up the good work

While I do love the Flood and fighting them and the idea of them being more incorporated, this just doesn’t sound like Halo. It sounds like a cheesy rip off of Cod Black Ops II zombies. The UNSC is much more familiar with the Flood and would most likely be able to detect their presence way before the Flood would have a chance to try any boarding method of the Infinity. And I believe a HAZOP team would deal with the Flood, not any sort of special “Parasite Team” that just sounds foolish. Chemical and Biological hazards fall into the hands of Hazmat teams as it is, why would we change that in the future?

It’s not ripping off CoD if it has direct objectives and is in the form of a traditional campaign.

Also, spartans are just more effective at taking out flood than field soldiers are since the flood can barely penetrate spartan armor if at all, simple facts of Halo.

Minus the campaign as I would rather the flood appear in the main campaign and not a Spartan ops like campaign but the flood survival would be a amazing alternative to firefight and if it was added to Spartan ops it could definitely spice things up. I even like the name but if they do make a flood survival then they should also upgrade Flood mood to maybe have either more variations of the infected Spartan or have actual ai flood that you can forge that can come out and attack the survivors in Flood.

Have you read the Halo: The Flood book at all? A Flood combat form nearly knocks the Chief off his feet with a single hit and an infection form penetrates through his armor in an instant and would’ve killed him had it not been for Cortana. Don’t “simple facts of Halo” me if you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Yeah, you guys are right. But i know people would love to play Flood Survival. I’m not gonna write the scripts no more. The flood should be in campaign and spartan ops. Not it’s own campaign. But yeah, it would be coll if you were able to unlock characters to be.
