I’d really like to enjoy flood for what it could be but I usually just hide in the corner or leave when i get infected(sorry guys) because I take my k/d so seriously and being flood is suicide.
EDIT: just to clear things up(this whole thread has become an argument about caring too much about K/D), I don’t try to take this game seriously, it just comes to me, I don’t try to get pissed off when i get cross map sniped or something, I just do. I naturally find myself getting mad when I do bad because of my K/D and it’s just natural.
Some people pointed out that you can check K/D for individual games which is cool but you can’t do that right after a game or when you’re looking someone over so that isn’t entirely valid.
I’m sure i’m not the only overcompetitive halo player out there and I really think that for those of us who are this would help us to enjoy the game more.
EDIT 2: I left one game then just stopped playing flood because I knew i’d end up doing it every game, so now you’ll probably say that I should just stay out~ well I personally think I could have good fun playing flood if I didn’t care so much and I don’t think anyone should have a problem with the word fun in a video game

How can you enjoy a game if you worry about your K/D?
yeah pretty sad the only thing we have is k/d which only encourages quitting out of games. this is what happens when there are no ranks, people just camp to go 10-1 and ruin the game for other players who want to win because k/d is the only thing to work for
Yeah i try not to camp but when it comes to going 1/20 because people are hiding in the wall on complex or something similar it really just becomes something I don’t want to do anymore.
People these days sweat over K/D way to much. There is one statistic everybody should care about and that is Win or Lose. I have heard people bragging about their K/D in lobby after a game of CTF that they lost 5-0. Like really? You lose 5-0 and you’re slapping each others bums for good K/D?

Pretty sure you’ll be enjoying a ban if you keep that up then, also going through your career stats on waypoint you can look at individual gametypes k/d, I prefer looking at them individually rather than an overall purely because if you play the game properly i.e. in Objective k/d means nothing. If k/d is all that matters to you, wouldn’t it better to find a game where it actually means something?

Thank you for this post.
That is why a lot of games just lose their fun with Title Updates. Developers bend and cave in to the MLG people that think its “for real” and not the game it is meant to be.
My BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG fear is 343i will cave and bend and cater to the MLG crowd on Halo 4 and completely destroy this great and near perfect game.
And why? Look at the population. The “Pro” list is always near bottom 3rd. They are such a minority. Catering a game to them is just bad business. Sales are so insignifigant.
Halo is now social. MLG days are loooooooooooong gone. If 343i is smart (which so far making this great game, deff proven they are) they will just leave it alone. Fix some map glitches and rake in the money this game will bring them and just start making Halo 5 and the War Games Map Packs.

So now that “zombies” have a decent chance against humans you won’t play as one? I wreck as a flood. And why care about your k/d? I don’t really care for stats but if anything the only stat that should matter is W/L.
When I read the part where you said you left once you died, I facepalmed so hard. Why do kids care so much about numbers that don’t contribute to anything anywhere? Are you afraid the other little kids won’t think you’re awesome because your insignificant number is too low? Play to have fun, not to impress people. Trust me, showing a girl your K/D spread will not have any adverse or positive effects, atleast not in the near future.
