Just thinking it would be totally awesome if the flood returns in halo infinite. Plus if it did, it would be great to see a flood type of multiplayer game mode. (That’s not flood infection) like a flood firefight/survival. Or maybe where you can play as each actual flood type. I think it would be awesome!
Honestly im really believing they will due to the specific halo ring, and awaken the nightmare dlc for halo wars 2.
Plus i love the idea of Cortana being infected with the logic plague as ive always thought it would be really bad if cortana works with the flood after the halo 2 ending when it first came out back in the day
Im not sure if the part with cortana infected by the logic plague is a good idea (as she now control the guardians its already almost impossible to stop her). What could be good to see would be Cortana in her madness releasing accidently the flood, pushing her to send her forces to stop the spreading and giving the opportunity to the humanity to stop her while she is busy to fight the flood.
If cortana is indeed infected by the logic plague, i really hope the humanity team up with medicant bias, 343 guilty spark and the librarian

That would be awesome! Maybe even some new flood forms too! I was also thinking if they bring the flame thrower back, a flood form where they infect the marine with the flame thrower pack and can use the flames from it some how?..
The new ring halo infinite takes place on will have flood theirs no doubt about that. I’m hoping the flood have a little more variety than in halo 1 2 and 3. More types of flood to fight such as the cut juggernaut flood form from halo 2
Honestly I want some missions towards the end where you’re inside a containment facility on the ring and you can intentionally release some flood to distract prometheans so you can run by (like flood protocol overiding them to target the flood over you) but you’ve got flood running around as well now

It could be actually really good, but at the same time masterchief know the danger that the flood represent, he will probably never do this mistake. It is more likely to happen with the marines as they never faced the flood before and probably dont know about this treat (the events of halo 3 concerning the flood was kept secret by the human military intelligence, the UNSC Leadership and the ONI. These events were covered under the covenant invasion)

But remember chief did accept help from the flood in halo 3 near the end (before being immediately and obviously betrayed) and knowing that prometheans were designed to combat flood they might have an overide system that is a big F U to cortana’s commands. So having something optional like that during a mission would be nifty. Plus marines making the mistake of releasing the by accident is just as unlikely because they would probably be able to see flood forms in containment and think “what in the living frick frack is that??”
I agree, flood has to come back and needs to be fun to fight, it wpukd be awesome to have a flood firefight.
Well they came back in Halo Wars 2 with new forms, I wouldn’t be surprised if this new ring had some Flood samples.
I hope they return too. Flood firefight would be sweet! Because of Halo Wars 2 awakening the nightmare, I don’t think it will possible for them not to return.

I think that would be a lazy way to bring them back. They should come from the ark somehow.

Why not have the ring already be infested, but in the particular part we are playing their is no flood yet, so Chief will think, “It won’t hurt if I release these ones. The ring is already infested, so why not release these ones to save my butt?”

I mean, I’m sure with the Forerunner seeding ships there, they’d find a way or the Ark teleportation system.
