(Legendary ending spoiler): So if you beat the game on legendary, the ending is that after cortana is warped away, she finds an undiscovered halo ring. Could this rise the probability of the flood returning. Covies, promethians, and flood all at once?! Please reply your thoughts, I would love to hear them.

They’re still out there. And all the little (and not so little) hints that they’ve been dropping in the books and comic/graphic novels all point to them coming back.
Now whether or not they’ll be back in 6, who knows. But they WILL be back eventually.

They are on The Spirit of Fire from halo wars I know that (and others too) from halo escalation camics.
A 5+ pronged war might be interesting, but if they were gonna bring back the flood, they needed to do so in Halo 5.
The flood is not something that can be returned and then dealt with in a single game. They pose too much of a threat.
Still UNSC + Swords vs Flood vs Promethean vs Covenant (vs brutes maybe?) would be mind blowing.
Argh, I’m still so bitter that Halo 5 was just a prequel to halo 6. So much potential just kinda slipped away.

Well, 343 has stated that it’s no longer a Reclaimer “Trilogy”, so 6 will not be the end.

I like that theory! But is it even possible since Prometheans are part of the “digital realm”? I know I’m way off on my lore knowledge, but I remember hearing somewhere that the Forerunners tried to make themselves immune to the Flood by bridging the gap of organic and digital realms, and it backfired and turned them into Prometheans.

Actually prometheans were a caste on the forerunner society, they were also known as warrior-servants,and you’re right about the whole “flood cannot consume virtual beings” but it’s known that Medicant-Bias was “corrupted” by the Gravemind.Guess we’ll have to wait and see wether there’ll be “corrupted” prometheans
Damn im so excited for halo 6 and the paths it could take. The way i see it, cortana is just too omnipotent at the moment just like the ancillas of old, looking at you mendicant bias ;). Were pretty much in the same situation as the one depicted in the forunner saga. mendicant bias vs its creator = cortana vs its creator. So the only way i see cortana getting -Yoink- on is if the flood comes back with their plague logic and subdue the ais like they did in the past. but how would they come back you ask? well i think the spirit of fire and halo wars 2 has something to do with it

If you subscribe to the halo lootcrate, in the latest banished crate the folder you receive says that fireteam apollo has discovered vestiges of the flood parasite, and that there was a recent outbreak. Now keep in mind that this is in the halo 5 timeliness and the forerunner planet was destroyed in halo wars 1, 28 year prior
