Flood origins in Halo 4?

When Josh said about “several cylindrical space-canisters”, doesn’t this sound awfully familiar? The Flood’s original form was found in “cylindrical space-canisters”. And when bsa said about how she walked by the sound area and heard “sounds that are unknown at first listen, yet at the same time eerily familiar”. I think were going to explore Flood origins more in Halo 4. Or at least sometime in the Reclaimer Trilogy.

please, i havent read Primordium yet, so dont put any spoilers. please.

Maybe, but Flood origins will also probably be explored in Greg Bear’s last Forerunner book.

The Flood?

Seriously though, I have a feeling the Precursors will be ultimately involved, Primordium pretty much confirmed it.

I’m not going to spoil it for you, but it’s been revealed. Read Primordium.

That’s why I don’t watch that show, those theorists can either clearly be kookoo for coco puffs,or have hairstyles that suggest the same.

I love that guys hair… its hilarious!

And I am going to read it. I had it preordered, but they ran out of stock or something

they said it again. about the music:

> For what it’s worth, I find the following words applicable to describe the music in its current state: eerie, familiar, chill-inducing, powerful.

i swear, Halo 4 is going to have something to do with the Flood.

and again, im only halfway through Primordium, so no spoilers please. dont even use the word “Forerunner” or “Precursor”

I really hope that not a single other detail is released about the Flood’s origin. I don’t understand at all this obsession with origin stories and absolute answers. The Flood are so frightening and compelling precisely because of their complete “alien-ness”; all of that will be undone in a single stroke if they’re given a fully fleshed out origin story. Keep them mysterious and unknowable, I say.

(I couldn’t resist citing an example: if anyone has ever read Mark Z. Danielweski’s House of Leaves, they will hopefully know how effective the lack of an explanation can be in establishing the element of horror.)

mumble mumble mumble, Precursors, mumble, read Primordium

> mumble mumble mumble, Precursors, mumble, read Primordium

just for that, as soon as i get my copy of Halo 4, im gonna play it nonstop till my pants are soiled and my eyes are bleeding, and then come back here, and totally ruin it for you in a PM.

This made me LLOL (“literally laugh out loud”).

Those sounds could be connected to the sounds heard at the top of the third tower on The Covenant… or they are a reference to the various sounds heard in Halo games (there are certain locations. Often, they signify a Flood encounter).
