Flood Mode Headshots

Though Halo 4 is an incredible game, and I do enjoy it, the flood mode in no way meets the standards of Halo’s living dead game-types. In Halo: Reach people would be impressed by 50 kills or higher. Now in Halo 4 it seems like 20 kills is impressive. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that they look like flood and all that, but the magnum is practically useless. Hitting every single shot in the head, I only got about 7 kills with it. Why? Flood have energy shields. Back in Reach i got 78 kills in one game by hitting head shots, though this may have been seen as unfair, I think it separated the good from the bad. Now most of the points you get with the magnum are from assisting people running around with shotguns, or just kill stealing. Also, tone down thruster-pack.

I think the magnum should be one shot in the head but keep it the same for body.

I liked Halo 3’s infection the best because of its simplicity. Zombies were zombies and Humans were Humans. There was not armor abilities and I think Active camo for humans and Thruster Packs for Flood are over powered and make gameplay unfair. At times the shotgun only one shots if they are within lunging distance with the sword and even if you get a bulltrue sometimes the players will “trade”. This needs to be fixed by

A: Removal of Zombie sheilds (Just up damage resistance a bit)
B: Buff the shotgun/pistol for that gametype only
C: Remove armor abilities for Flood

Just a few idea, if you have anymore ideas feel free to suggest them.

FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE AGREES! 343 you need to read this and consider what we are saying. Have you guys not noticed how low the flood mode population is? Flood Mode needs some tweaks badly.
Here is some changes that are needed and I feel that most people would agree:
-One headshot needs to be a kill
-Take away all armor abilities period.

That’s seriously all the game needs, maybe the flood can all have one uniform armor ability like invisibility or weakened thruster pack but that’s it or just give them sprint and nothing else? Consider this. Does anyone else agree?

Headshot thing is what hurt infection gametypes. Its one of the few changes I actually like.

IMO they should take out the magnum in flood.

halo 4 sucked in general. was not able to connect with the game iike previous halos. I play em all have em all. but CMON RUINING FLOOD!!! bring headshots back just make it like halo reach I had a fun as -Yoink- time with it. to do from 0 kills in 2 rounds to 30 was amazing. now I can barely get 10. most the time im dying because im tryin to get headshots buuuut no 343 ruined it. all the gameplay just sucks horribly. and halo 5 got me excited untl I saw the preview :frowning: thanks for ruining halo

After this long, I dont think 343 are going to bother giving Flood anymore updates beyond what has already happened. People have been begging for a 1sk head shot since the game was released and it has not happened, most likely it never will.

I like that the infected in Flood aren’t one-shot-kills. It makes it more fun to play as the infected, since I’m not just running brainlessly (pun intended) at the Spartans until I’m lucky enough to kill one, racking up 60 deaths in the process. The Flood are now viable, and I think that’s a good thing.

I agree that killing 78 weak Flood with headshots is fun, but I think that type of gameplay would be better suited to a gametype such as Firefight (e.g. Gruntpocalypse), not player vs. player. It’s no fun for the players who are getting killed 78 times.

We know next to nothing about Halo 5, and you say, that Halo is ruined, because of a trailer, where Chief walks through a desert? What the heck man.

Living Dead population in Reach was in the thousands, I rarely see over 400 people playing Flood in Halo 4, this alone speaks volumes!!! In my opinion, the following changes would return zombies to its former glory.

  • Remove ALL armour abilities, they simply aren’t needed, for humans or the flood (I won’t even mention the Thruster Pack)
  • 1 headshot to kill with the magnum, it’s useless at the moment
  • Give the zombies sprint! Why was this even removed in the first place?
  • Let people use there chosen colours, not the horrible green/yellow
  • Keep the Flood skin yet remove the strange visor and zoidberg sound they make.

In my opinion this would return zombies to one of the most popular playlists in the game, as it has been in the previous games.

I remember playing some Reach Infection not too long ago. Uncaged? We survivors set up by the mancannon.
