I was looking around in the Universe section and I found this piece of text on the cyclops page:
> Hazops: Cyclops with biolab-grade environmental sealing and a heavy flamethrower are sometimes assigned as support vehicles to Spartan assessment and containment teams at Forerunner sites which may house Flood samples. Unfortunately, it is often necessary to destroy these suits at the end of successful containment missions, as properly cleaning every nook and crevice for traces of Flood spores is prohibitively challenging. A worst-case scenario - so far explored only in simulations - is one in which the operator is infected by the Flood and FSC-based biomass further augments the existing exoskeleton armature.
We have already seen a Flood infected Cyclops in the form of a new Mega Bloks set. This Universe entry tells us that Cyclops are used to inspect Forerunner sites alongside Spartans and there are simulations where Cyclops are overtaken by the flood. Now read the flavor text for Raid on Apex 7:
> “Clearing out the initial Covenant threats and controlling the Forerunner Spire in the center of the island is paramount to a team’s success and provides a central base of operations. If your team loses the Spire, don’t despair; players can use a system of caves or take to the beach to flank the base. Beware of the Covenant though, for they will not let you take this island so easily. They will counterattack and fight to retake their territory. Continue the push for control of the island and take out the opposition’s core… before you awaken something much worse.”
There has already been speculation about the final line referring Flood being unleashed in general, but this seems like the perfect time to show off a Flood Cyclops in-game as a legendary boss. Other new elements of Halo 5 have been shown off as Mega Bloks sets before being revealed, like the Phaeton, so I think there’s a pretty solid foundation for this theory, even though it’s a bit of wishful thinking. What do you think?
