Definitely something I want the next game or two to build up to. Without a single doubt.
We’ll probably get flood with one shot incineration cannons and overpowered thruster packs. That said, it would be cool to go to Installation 07. It would be a flood wasteland and 343 would do a great job with the decaying world and possibly the reactivation of one the grave minds there.

It’s not call it the “Timeless One” for nothing. The Flood will return, of that I am certain. How and when? Well, that’s the debate now isn’t it.
I for one will welcome the return of the long-absent Flood. While IMO the Flood’s design has declined from game to game, I have confidence that the “new” Flood will be scary and hopefully a return-to-form of the Halo Combat Evolved Flood.
While I do not expect the new Flood to look like the Halo:CE Flood, I want that feeling again, like I’m up against something truly terrifying.
For me, for this to happen, The Flood-Precursor connection needs to be shown in-game. Bring in the Precursors, show us the “Space-Cathulu”. The UNSC needs to be knocked off their pedestal. The return of the Flood/Precursors can do this.

Also, it needs Flood Juggernauts, many Juggernauts.

I hope we get to see the flood in Halo 5. Though I want it to be a surprise. Not a CE type of surprise though.
UNSC and Covenant Remnant fighting over some Forerunner artifacts on some(populated) planet. Everything seems normal. Then boom flood ship out of nowhere. Chaos ensures.

Prometheans and covies are already working together, so it would be more like UNSC vs Covenant/Prometheans vs Flood. Was it even explained how the flood were released to begin with? I know it had something to do with the covenant, but i don’t think it was elaborated upon very effectively. Sorry, i haven’t read the books, so forgive me for my lack of information. Personally, i believe the flood have already been dealt with. Why should we have this burden again?
