Flood in firefight? don't think so.

I read a post some where that 343i promised that with the title update will come something for Firefight matchmaking that has never been in firefight before. A few people have speculated that they are adding the flood into the game but I don’t think so. The flood would already have to be in the game in order for them to do that and they… err… it… HOWEVER you want to classify the flood are not, alas. Its like the argument about new armor and how they cannot add new armor at all to the game, Bungie did not put flood in the game, there for how could they put them into Firefight matchmaking?

Now what I personally hope they are adding is Vehiclefight, which is alot more possible to create then Floodfight. My idea for Vehiclefight is as follows:

You start off with an indestructible Revnant(unless it falls off a cliff of course)

First wave: 6 Ghosts
Second wave: 6 Heretic warthogs(if possible)
Third wave: 6 Revnants
Fourth wave: 6 Wraiths
Fifth wave: 2 Scarabs

I realize the scarabs are a bit farfetched, but they have to put them into the game somewhere else besides the last level where your running from them and don’t have the weapons to take even one down, COME ON!!! I also realize that this type of gameplay is currently impossible with current firefight maps, but 343i is adding an additional map, so they may be making this possible.

PLEASE MAKE VEHICLEFIGHT!!! lol, I’m sick of my grounded commendation being in silver ;).

It’s highly possible. Remember, CE:A is in it’s own disc, so it’s very possible that FF Flood will be in… uhm… FF. Maybe not on all maps, though.

You forgot the new firefight stage takes place on HALO which means it’s totally possible to have flood because the flood were on Halo.

> You forgot the new firefight stage takes place on HALO which means it’s totally possible to have flood because the flood were on Halo.

That’s not what he meant. He’s talking more technical. The flood models and other coding isn’t in the Original Halo: Reach disc, so technically it is impossible to add it just like that. However, Halo CE:A is in its own disc, so new armor as well as gametypes is very possible.

Missing gametypes, too, perhaps? coughvipcough

Hmm, both ideas sound good, perhaps a “superfight” , with the usual, plus flood, plus vehicles on a big map?

It is possible. The character models are in the maps themselves, thus any new maps can include new character models.

As long as it’s possible 343 can do it. Maybe they should make it exclusive to Halo CEA since it will come on it’s own disk. Would be great for sales too.

I heard that the multiplayer maps are going to be runnig using Reach’s engine and code. If they have the models using Reach’s engine, then it shouldn’t bee too hard to add in something (flood) to one map. I think that its going to work like new features that are specific to that ONE map like different forge pieces on new maps. It’s probably Floodfight because Vehicles, like the scorpion have already been done (ODST; lost platoon). 343i said that it would be something completly different. Flood is completly differnt. and cool. (i’ll take flood v. warthog any day!)

Exactly, 343 should at least put flood on the new map because it does take place on Halo. Just make it exclusive to that one map wouldn’t hurt anything on Reach.

> It is possible. The character models are in the maps themselves, thus any new maps can include new character models.

The only issue I could see would be the programming of the AI. The flood do not act like Covenant at all in their approach. Someone would have to program they way they move, the actions they make, everything.

Who said flood were never on the engine? It is the halo engine meaning they are there just like how when they were gana add firefight to halo 3 but couldn’t finish it in time but since it was still in the engine they could add it to odst easily.

Guys here is another possibility…notice how all maps that are on a Halo ring so far including the ones with CEA have a forge pallete…now I know all about how this cant work and all but they said they are trying to change the coding…but what if since its on a Halo ring…could that mean…its forgable?

Now hear me out…they said they are working on the coding and yes I know they would walk into walls and wouldnt know what to do.

But forgable FF maps would be epic…although…there is a 0.00001% chance of that happening…

Of course Flood Firefight is more epic :3

This is also a really good theory.

Either way, I would welcome Flood Firefight or Vehiclefight with open arms.

Yes, they weren’t in the base Reach game, but they will be remastered in Halo CE:A. So they have the models and behaviors, all they would need is to code them into Reach. 343 also stated that they were able to bring this new thing to Firefight by playing with the code.

Flood FF FTW!

I like to call it floodfight.

I dunno, maybe I’m putting too much merit on commendations, but I would love to see more Vehicle action. Before Reach came out Bungie was all talking it up like the game was going to have mad vehicles so I assumed they would have multiple scarabs and wraiths and Revnants EVERYWHERE. Heck, I played Halo 2 the other day and that game had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more vehicles then reach does. I realize that has nothing to do with firfight, but I would be satisfied to quell my need for destroying alot of vehicles in Firefight.

It would certainly help our commendations. I just think it would be nice to use something besides a rocket warthog or ghost for once.

CEA has a seperate disc (2 of them included in the box) and one of them you install onto your hard drive to play with halo reach. I think it’s more than possible that there could be floodfight. All they have to do is make it possible with a TU.

They changed the base code.
