This topic is about having Flood Combat Form player models (FCF) in Infection when infected.
First off, in Halo 3, Infection was officially declared an official gametype. Immeadiately, people thought it would be really cool to play as a FCF when Infected (Spartan/Elite depending on what you were). Then came Halo Reach. Infection was rarely talked about, with the exception of a Safe Havens tease. A lot of people thought since they weren’t showing off Infection gameplay (of at least the new Safe Havens mode), players must be able to be a FCF in Infection when Infected. When Halo Reach was released, many were disappointed.
Now, onto Halo 4. Assuming there is an Infection gametype (by seeing Reach, I can’t see how it couldn’t), the FCF needs to happen. As you can see from Reach’s population, and previously Halo 3’s Living Dead Double EXP Weekends populations, you can tell Infection is a really popular gametype in Halo (since Halo 2 even when it first started in Customs). A lot of people from what I’ve seen have always asked is to be FCF in Infection. Why not have this happen in Halo 4? Gameplay will be unique also for headshots need to be dead-center in the chest.
Think about it from another perspective: Machinimas. Imagine Machinimas with FCFs in them. Imagine The Forgotten Spartans or Rise of the Spartans with FCFs in them. Epicness bumped up!
However, there is the whole storyline in the Multiplayer and it’s only about Spartan IV’s, there’s another solution: Haunted.
“What do you mean good sir?” In Halo Reach, when you reach the rank of Inheritor, you get Haunted helmet. Expand this. When you’re infected, you’re player model becomes all Haunted. Meaning Haunted: Helmet, Shoulders, Chest, Wrist, Utility, Knee Guards. Have decaying bone show, but have it just like the helmet: Transparent through the armor. The armor can still be seen, but the decaying bones with be seen also (like Haunted helmet). This also keeps gameplay (headshot wise) the same.
So, let’s make this happen!
