My question is, what are your thoughts about the “Flood” game mode? Do you like it? Do you have concerns about it?
Personally, I’m not a fan of it, only for ONE reason - the zombie thruster pack. It seems way too overpowering and complex that rounds typically end within a good two minutes. I much preferred the “evade” and “sprint” abilities that zombies could have.
This affects me because my favourite game mode has always been Living Dead, and I literally go on Reach sometimes just to go back to the old game mode. However, 80% of the time, I’ll just suck it up and play BTB or slayer.
I would like to mention that I love the newly updated zombies (well, flood). They are much more appealing. I also like the majority of maps that Flood can be played on.
Lastly, if 343 is doing something to reduce OP abilities in Flood, please let me know. I’ve just been told that they’re keeping the thruster pack, which frustrated me a bit.

Amen. Thruster pack (plus zombie shields) makes Flood worth playing. Removing it will be a disservice to us all.

I agree. I thought they learned their lesson from reach, that evade is terrible because it makes it far too easy for the infected. It’s one step forward with the flood skins, and two steps back with the armor abilities.
Zombies should be able to sprint, and have promethean vision. Humans get no abilities. That’s it.
Edit: I do like how it seems to be a more even selection of alpha zombies too.

Okay, but survivors already had a hard time staying alive. And trust me, I definitely know this, as 90% of my matchmaking games probably consisted of Living Dead (currently have 19,500 kills on Reach). Why make it even harder? And now it’s fun being a zombie, but not fun being a survivor. Maybe they should balance it out?
I personally dont care for matchmaking infection/flood , however I LOVE custom games infection/flood. Why the -Yoink- am I not able to place weapons in forge and have them spawn on the map when playing flood what the actual -Yoink-?

Well the Covies appear to be down to just the storm Covenant as far as a hostile military are concerned. All the S-4’s are most likely veterans and know how to fight elites and grunts and such, no need to train them on that.
The flood on the other hand are this extra galactic constantly evolving parasite that we know almost nothing about, better to train on how to kill them then train with easy targets.

they didnt get rid of elites soley for canon reasons…its a new trilogy, new company, time to move on from the covenant
Well I’m a fan of custom games and the new game type makes it impossible for some games to play. Off the top of my head I know we can’t play duck hunt or cops and robbers anymore. Mainly cause they cant pick up other weapons other than their fleshy sword. I spend a good amount of time editing the game type but I see no settings for weapon pickup, allow spirit, or change model.
Did any of you play infection in halo 3? Fat kid, Ice cream man, ghost busters, omega journey, castle defense, that jenga tower thing. Those were the things that made infection so great in the first place. Will their ever be infection games like that anymore?
In my opinion Reach made a huge mistake giving zombies evade. It was PERFECT in Halo 3 when the humans had some lasting ground against the zombies. It had suspense, and it wasn’t a human butchering event like the infected variants in Reach and 3. If it were up to me, I would remove all zombie loadout traits that can give any kind of instantaneous burst in speed.

Exactly the same problem I have, their has to be a way to fix this. If not infection/flood is -Yoinking!- ruined.
Make the pistol in flood a 2 or 3 shot kill and let us have our default colors not that ugly green/yellow. Or bring back infection alongside flood. The more playlists the merrier.
