Flood for infection mode?

Hey guys i know this sounds like one of those impossible to do thing but it really isn’t. I mean think about it, the rules wouldn’t change at all the only changes are aesthetic. instead of a sword the infected use tentacles (which makes sense considering sword lunge) and instead of hiding from well… Spartans with swords were actually hiding from real infected.

All the mechanics would remain the same. The changes to the character models would be the only change, I mean its the same game just viewed through a different lens.

Oh and BTW guys the multiplayer story is that it’s a training simulation for the Spartans to hone there skills, wouldn’t it make sense for them to take a precautionary step and make a simulation just in case of a flood infestation?

Please give feed back guys I want 343 to hear this.

And it would look sorta like this…

Fun idea, but its unlikely to be implemented

If anything it wont be because of the extra work but other than that it can be done,Remember it’s a game, Anythings possible with a little reasoning.

Well hopefully Halo 4 has no Flood in campaign, so therefore certainly not in multiplayer.

No flood is the one thing Recah did right.

There’s nothing wrong with flood, they were fun different and are a part of halo’s lore, and they weren’t in reach because they hadn’t emerged yet. you never know if this halo will or wont have it.

Well which form of the Flood?

But the idea sounds fun.

It would look something like this… only without the gun, and you see how the sword is replaced by the tendrils?

> It would look something like this…

Decreased mobility unless he is still as agile and fast while having those infected tentacles around him.

I love Infected and i don’t think the game play is off by any means, i just think the whole flood take on it would be a nice improvement. and its like i said purely aesthetic.

the problem with that is,its not logical why put the infected flood in when they arent in the actual campaighn and its more fun to have spartan zombies rather than crapping your pants when you see a army of actual flood running at you with tenticles. hmmm or maybe the zombie that stays alive the longest becomes an actual flood like left 4 dead,u get to be a tank when u get a certain amount of kills. just brainstorming. but in some aspects your idea is actually a pretty cool improvement.

To be honest with you, lets face it the covenant are done with for the moment, the flood are everywhere and never really die out, and 343 keep talking about this great threat… gravemind maybe? i mean 343 wouldn’t just pull a species out of the pants for john to fight right? even still i could remember to many times that i feel my adrenaline pumping and hands sweating just from playing old infected, imagine the tension from fighting of (THE SAME THING) but a little uglier.

And whether they are in the game or not guess what, They are a threat and are very much part of the game.

this sounds like a cool idea considering their encounters with the flood. and since the flood has come to life more than once, it would be smart to get ready. also including the fact that theyve never fought an infected spartain before it would be good to know how to take one out just in case.

if 343 did this it would set a good standard for their companies name, and whatever halo game they might make in the future.

Exactly, these come by a lot. Much like the idea of an advanced forge editor where you can edit terrain.

You make a really good point dood, and 343 CAN do this

that has nothing to do with that, that completely requires a new engine and months of work, this is only changing player models, what does this take? a little work, now editing terrain? that’s really difficult to implement this late into the games development, not to mention forge is a map editor not map maker. as cool as that would be

A simple model/skin swap would be plausible and not a massive undertaking.

finalknite92 is right. they dont need to do massive changes. it would only change the looks, and the sword to a tenticle. it could have everything work the same, just look different. just like they did to the aliens that would get infected in the campaign.

we should all just click thank tab just so 343 could see it and see if they consider it and work something out.

I think he means to thank my post at the top of the page and sort of petition this request

Why would they waste so much time building such a thing when something as simple as color variation could represent the infected?

It’s one of those great ideas that are brought up regularly, but now that we know we won’t get to fight the flood in Halo 4… Well, I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
