the biggest part of the update is the Firefight expansion coinciding with the release of ODST Mod Tools, and potentially more fixes/improvements to the existing Mod Tools for Halo 3, H2C, and Halo CE. apparently they were also planning for Reach Tools to launch as well, however something about the lighting aspect held it back. they have said it shouldn’t take as long as it took for ODST to resolve however, though with luck it might give them an excuse to also give Reach Firefight the same treatment as ODST and restore a few missing features from legacy if things go well with ODST.
the Devs have confirmed that the remaining unreleased H:O armor for Halo 3 and the unnamed Preserve DLC chest armor for Reach will not be in the ODST update, as well as the remaining H:O maps likely not being in the plans any time soon (although not off the table for future updates). That said, no word has been given on the return of Stances previewed in Season 8, so their is a chance they might also be included alongside other in-game cosmetics.
Honestly I think the MCC team is trying to convince the Higher ups to let them continue the season model until all missing content is added, doing so behind closed doors of course.
I hope this is the case but I am NOT saying it is the case, this is just my speculation on why we’ve had so much radio silence on MCC, is the possibility of the MCC team trying to talk the Higher ups into letting them continue the seasonal model for the time being, especially since Infinite is losing more players by the day. Those are players that won’t be coming back.
My point is simply this: Infinite is bleeding out players, season 2 has been met with plenty of skepticism if not outright distrust and disappointment, it’ll die off quicker than 343 expects, leaving MCC as the safety net option once again.
EDIT: If it’s a PVE Weekly Challenge for Firefight, or even a Seasonal Challenge for firefight you can complete it in custom firefight, no matchmaking required.
Bad… it is important to know when it comes out because people need to organize with saves (i know the update will delete progressions in campaign), challanges, xbox live dubscriptions, times and friends. I don’t think 343 is a serious company.
This update has me hyped! Still wish The stuff they added to Forge was complete barrier removal, but the idea of them messing with barriers to make them team based makes me believe that they are actually slowly working on it.
update is pretty sweet, though I’m a little disappointed they didn’t add Stealth Elites and Spec-Ops Grunt patrols to Firefight, and removed the Spec-Ops Elites as well as Elite Ultras (Spec-Ops Majors).
guess maybe they could be planning to bring them all back in a future update, which would give them time to test the ins and outs of the Stealth Elite Cloaking, tweak the Spec-Ops Patrols so the Grunts are more in-line with their CE counterparts, and make the Elite Ultras are more of a boss wave enemy
I played a match of it and everyone just got in the ghosts that spawned with flood in them and used that lol. Might be worth my time in between grinding for Onyx and SR 152
