I don’t know about you guys but I want there to be a Flood Leader for Halo Wars 2. For those of you that don’t know the Flood was originally meant to be a Leader in the original Halo Wars but was cut from the game.
I personally don’t mind waiting 2 months if it were to be for a completely new faction like the Flood. The Flood has always been a huge part of the Halo franchise but it almost seems like 343 want to forget and move on.
I for one one think this would be a fantastic idea to have a Flood leader, just think of the potential it could have and how the fans will go beserk over this. Think of a Flood super unit, a gravemind that speaks, the potential leader powers and more.
I think it would be a game changing add on for Halo Wars 2 because at the moment Halo Wars 2 feels very repetitive. People that constantly play as the same leaders, the maps all feel the exact same and so I’m hoping the next leader could possibly be the Flood.
I’m sure many would find this an amazing piece of DLC.
I think it be cool if there was an infected Prophet within the Flood faction. Like the Gravemind from H2 that had the oracle and the prophet each. Each one could be a leader.
But did you see the rumors from the colony trailer? There is a sound effect at the end of the video that comes right out of the 343 Guilty Spark level where the Flood is fought.
good idea the flood is the number one enemy that forerunners can not defeat. good idea for a flood leader

> “hey guys - I’m all for transparency and realistic expectations - I’m genuinely excited about the content that’s yet to come for Halo Wars 2 but I can go ahead and confirm that there will not be any other playable factions in the game. I definitely get the excitement and desire (and I personally share it!) but it’s not in the plans for HW2.” -ske7ch
why cant there be a flood leader in awakening the nightmare
i want them add flood leader in the new DLC
Wouldn’t work within the rules of an RTS, especially within the rules and mechanics of HW2.
The Flood don’t use resources like the UNSC/Banished, rather the Flood relies on infecting bodies and collecting biomass. A coordinated force of infantry or mechanized army could easily stonewall a Flood force by denying them easy access to infectable bodies.
Dedicated air and vehicle armies would be practically immune and would starve the Flood right from the beginning.

I was really hoping that one of the DLC leaders with ATN was going to be an infected brute. That way, you could play as Banished, but have some flood LPs. Alas, no luck. I like the new leaders, but it sort of feels like a missed opportunity

Oh I made a thread a month or two ago about Regret being infected as a leader. It’d could be a great idea if implemented properly and add the final leader that’s missing from the original game to HW2.
Oh you don’t know how happy I’d be to have a Flood leader based solely on Flood Pure Forms, ones that would stem creation from Flood Spores themselves rather than re-skinned units, you know?
It would be fascinating to have something like that!

If it was, then it was cut pretty early which shows why there shouldnt be one

How hard is HW2’s code to crack? Haven you messed around with the new Flood models at all, or do you strictly fool around with HW:DE?

I think there’s better places to ask those questions.
It’s a pity there’s no playable Flood, I guess we can hope that Halo Wars 3 (if it comes out) will add something substantial.

actually, the flood has dedicated anti-air units seen in both halo wars.
No thanks. Leave the flood non playable.

Go away.
First to answer your question we already know what a flood’s super unit and leader would be and is.
Super Unit- The abomination. This thing inspires nearby flood kind of like Jerome making them even more damaging and on top of that the enemies in the aura get a defense debuff.
Leader- Can’t remember it’s official name but this is the weird thing with a lot of health(about as much as a hero with tier 2 upgrade) and spawns counter units to whatever most units you have. For instance if you have vehicle’s it spawns vehicle infector’s. For infantry it spawns flood spores and for air units it spawns seeders.
But in general I don’t like the idea of the flood being playable. Mainly because of what Astartes Marine said:

Sure they could change them, making them abide by power and supply pads. But that’d be weird. Flood don’t train unit’s out of barracks or other buildings. They just sort of “come into existence” I don’t know. They don’t train normally is what I’m saying. Plus come on they are the flood. Mass weapons of destruction were built just to CONTAIN them. Flood OP.
Yes!! I agree! A Flood leader add on would be a amazing add on to the game!!!
