Came across this Insider video where they were interviewing the 343 audio team - https://youtube.com/watch?v=AjpZEzP-I2Q - and in it they feature the “Flood pugs” that made the rounds a while ago, and it seems they’re teasing “something really special” coming in a future update for which they utilized the pug sounds. IMO, this seems like a tease for either Infection, the Flood coming to campaign, or both.

Would be awesome to see them comeback! But i wont place my hopes on it, they tried pretty hard to avoid using them since they were in charge of the franchise and went out of their ways to replace them with the prometheans and the endless. But who knows, with the moderate success of the awakening the nightmare DLC and the recent release of flood firefight on MCC, they might be tempted to use them to bring back some old-timers? With the current T rating of the game it might bring some problems though, guess only time will tell
I don’t think the T rating is that big of a hurdle these days. The effects the games have had for the Flood aren’t overly gory or realistic, so the odds of the rating being the hurdle is minimal, in my opinion anyway. I think the bigger hurdles are making them play right, getting the story right (if campaign), and/or balancing Infection with the new sandbox.
People were a bit divided on Halo 4 Flood Infection, but I personally liked it. I’d be fine if it came back. Could be some sounds for the new Creative Affinity BTB Warzone Elimination type mode.

Thats because it was gimped where flood couldn’t use any other weapons for some baffling reason which was severely limited compared og infection like if all they did was made the Spartans look like flood while keeping everything the same as infection it wouldn’t be as hated
Like imo halo 2 anniversary has the best looking infected its just a shame that game’s multiplayer isn’t played in custom games that often and imo they should’ve transferred that style to halo 5’s infected instead of making Spartans green again
