Flood assassinations.

So, straight to the point. If flood were to return, should player be able to assassinate flood forms & if so, which ones of them?

Infection form & Combat form could be the first candidates as the Infection form itself is rather weak.
Carrier could definitely be a no-go, unless the explosion could be somehow prevented that way.
Pure forms would seem somehat odd to be able to be killed with a knife given weakpoints aren’t that given with such distorted bodies.

And if there are other forms that you hope are in Infinite (like swarm from Halo Wars for example) just mention any of them too. Just a little reminder of flood variety unseen to FPS installments.

And this is not about whether it would make sense to use animation against flood, just asking whether it should be possible given it’s a gameplay mechanic implemented after flood stopped appearing in Halo FPS games.
Not that using animation against other enemies would make perfect sense either when quick punch does basically the same, it would be just for show as with other enemies, for those wondering about Infection form for example.

If there are larger forms (which there should be) such as the Flood Juggernaut that was cut from Halo 2, then those shouldn’t be able to be assassinated (unless they’re already below a certain health threshold?), similarly to how Hunters can not be assassinated. As for infection forms, I don’t really know how that would work, given how small they are.

Pick them up and stab them or squash them in hand much like in Halo 2 cutscene with prophet of Mercy?
And by aiming behind them, rare but can happen if they jump & miss & then you turn & hold the melee button.

Ever since the release of Forward Unto Dawn, I have thought that assassinating Hunters should be a thing. But only if you have at least one grenade on you. An animation could trigger where your Spartan jumps on a Hunters back, rams a grenade into the exposed part, and leaps clear.

I thought that a Hunter assassination would have been so cool. But you’d need either a grenade or a weapon that can ultimately do a lot of damage without killing yourself in the process. Like the Scattershot, the Shotgun, the Sticky Detonator (ram it in and release then jump clear), etc.

Assassinating flood would be cool but just certain types I think not all forms.
