Flood as Playable Characters?

I think that this could be great! The Flood were always one of my favorite characters.

They became playable in Halo 4 and MCC, but only just and modified to make sense. As this is Halo Wars, and since you would basically be a Gravemind which is bloody smart, it really depends. And if you could fit in the rock-paper-scissors formula with them.

Not in campaign, but as a faction for multiplayer definitely.

Definitely, adding much more variety is great, but to a certain extent. I feel as if the Flood was originally cut from the first game because they would have been too powerful. Imagine almost every unit you could send, being used against you without anyway of stopping it. There should be some way to counter the Flood, or even them out to the other factions.

Fire is the most ineffective. It literally sticks with them forever, allowing them to kill you AND set you on fire.

The only way I could see the Flood faction working is if they added Forerunner Sentinels into the game that had a hard light weapon that could eradicate the virus. But there are already too many problems with that, and having a separate faction of Forerunners would make it so much more difficult to implement the rock-paper-scissors thing.

Guys, what about the Insurrection? I think they should return as a faction.

Well taking them out would mean that there isnt an AI resistance on some planets but they should bring more AI factions in like a grunt camp or elite stronghold something that matches the planet you are currently playing on. Also a stronger flood resistance as a map veriant or at least give us the option to dial them up wouldnt hurt.

Quality should preside over quantity, but the maximum amount of factions that can be added without compromising this should be added. If they’re (any playable faction beside the UNSC and Covenant) hard to balance, which they most likely are, make certain combinations of factions exclusive to maps. For example, if the Flood and UNSC are an unbalanced couple, don’t include them as playable factions on any same maps together.

But that takes out some fun with using flood, but if halo wars 2 adopted the starcraft 2 style of gameplay and used that in place of their current rock paper scissors strategy then that even out the faction no matter what you use because you use what feels best to you or get used to using the faction you like whether the other factions feel better or not.

Yeah man, different types of A.I. resistance. Also, Imagine if the A.I. fought back, and attacked you first sometimes? How do you think that would work?

Well with flood they may just attack you with the carriers and parasites to control as many infrantry as they can, a grunt attack would have to be provoked first because they are naturally friendly , shanghili would plan an assault on you once they see you as a threat.
