Flood and Elites

Hey guys I just saw the new flood gametype picture and one question to all of you.
Do you think this is what will be used to satisfy the elite players as the new playable character.

Nah, it’s just a way to make the Infection mode feel more like “Zombies,” instead of just having it set up as Slayer where you switch teams after death.

Most proabley. It’s great they finally did it, but it ain’t no inviasion.

If this is the evolution for Infection I’m loving it. It will definitely give it the zombie-flood feel instead of the simple colour change. I assume the mutation of the right arm gives them an energy sword-equivalent attack?

I’m not exactly a ‘dedicated fan’ of the elite hub, i know some people strictly play elites in multiplayer. I like the idea, I don’t see why it shouldn’t be in but I’m not exactly effected either way.

However I will say that if this is 343i’s apparent response towards “scratching that itch” I feel sorry for the elite fan base. Yes it’s a new character model to play with but I’m assuming only via Flood Mode and simply…it’s not an elite.

Edit: Heres hoping for Invasion for you guys.

Agreed! I always hated to see the zombie as an ordinary Spartan with a different weapon spawn and a different colour.

The reason they were able to do the Flood models how they did is because they could use the same skeletons and hitboxes as the Spartans. It was probably relatively easy in terms of game design.

Infection was definitely one of Reach’s more popular game-modes. I’m not sure if this will make “Elite” players specifically happy though. It’s cool, the claws, the enhanced vision. They are all fine and dandy, but my buddies who play as Elites are pretty sad that their elites are out of multiplayer, but I will sure ask if this flood mode looks promising to them. (:

I played as a Sangheili mostly in Halo 3, and I can say this isn’t exactly a cure for missing them, but I’ll enjoy the game whether or not there is more to come.

In terms of the new mode, it better be more like Halo 3’s Infection. Reach ruined the gametype with sprint and evade, and the lack of good Infection maps. I wish mapmakers would actually bring back Spooky House and Haunted Manor, too.

Hell no this won’t satisfy Elite players.
It’s a zombies mutation, not an Elite mutation.

I hate zombies, as it’s only fun when you’re not a zombie. As soon as you die it stops being fun.

Just my opinion.

I don’t think it compares to the awesomeness of our beloved Wort wort worts, but it’s awesome nonetheless.

Now it’s not just Spartans running after other Spartans with a Sword, it’s actual zombies. Technically.

Even just a character model change can alter the way the gametype feels.

Hopefully not.
