In the inside infinite 343 said external flighting has already begun. This means some of us could get our hands on Infinite sooner than we think
Alot of Devs at E3/Game Awards/Whatever Expo will showcase a trailer or some smaller release and drop the bomb “And you can play it… Right now!”
I’m betting 343 will pull this with Infinite flighting.
I wouldn’t expect it to be playable anytime soon. I’m pretty sure the external people who have access are pros and really important press people.
I think by external flighting it means they have let people from most likely other Xbox Game studios to play the game. That is a good sign that public flighting will be relatively soon though.

Pro testing team started testing the game back in early 2019. I think this is more than that. They said a small group of people from a variety of backgrounds, and outside The company. So my guess is a small number of the halo community, as well as some press people. I don’t think most of us will get to test out the game till after e3 or whatever summer event they use for major halo infinite announcements.
External flighting to any extent is a significant step for a high profile project like this, but that’s likely just a trusted very small “friends and family” network. Sadly NDAs are worth about as much as the paper they are printed on given the PR lockdown and limited trickle of updates following last year’s gameplay reveal. Only takes one selfish idiot to try and risk benefitting from that with an exclusive leak to the press… doubt they are taking any chances
