Flamethrower Mantis!

Would a flamethrower Mantis be a viable addition to the Halo 5 sandbox? Thoughts, opinions, potential stories about getting owned by one?

Would be sooooo damn cool… wont happen though.

if spartans would get burned and get damage over time it sounds like a good idea. that way if they hijack you they could actualy die before they plant the grenade. maybe lets you survive a little while longer than now.

On the contrary, a cryo mantis would be cool… A pyro mantis would be HOT.

Exactly! And imagine if the stomp did an aoe fire damage, leaving a temporary residual damage like the firebomb grenade from Halo 3.

This might just be crazy enough to work

I know! It’d be epic! Imagine, you walk out of your armory, and instantly get washed in the flames of a Pyro-Mantis

If the flood ever came back, the Pyro Mantis would have a few words to say to them.

Thoughts?

Burn, baby, burn!

May I suggest that they bring back the Napalm Grenade for our fantasy Mantis as well? Instead of the traditional multi rocket launcher, the Mantis gets a couple of the grenade launchers on the Gungoose, but loaded with Napalm Grenades instead of the standard ones, launching 4 flaming balls of death per shot. Between the Flamethrower and the Napalm launcher, it would be a wicked anti-infantry vehicle. Less hot against other vehicles, but probably still a ton of fun

That sounds like something the UNSC would deploy to control riots in the outer colonies.

Maybe a Flood-control varient of many vehicles would be nice! Like the others said, the fire would deal burn damage to Spartans, possibly killing them as they board, with AoE flame damage after stomp, but to balance it, it deals very little damage to other vehicles, and has limited range.

This is an idea that makes itself, people.

It would make sense for the fire not to do much damage to enemy vehicles, it would be a great anti-infantry vehicle.

As BIOhazard555 said earlier this is crazy enough to actually work.

First… I hand held flamethrower.

Yes, and as things stand, it would certainly add a new dynamic to the sandbox. As things are, Halo 5 needs a CQC anti infantry vehicle.

I think we’d need to the the actual flamethrower return first.

This could play in the background whenever you use the Pyro Mantis.
On another note, they need Cottoneye Joe to play whenever you drive the Scout Hog, it’s the best soundtrack for splatters.

i dont think it would work gameplay wise but man would it be fun to watch and use.

I am still waiting for a mantis with Spartan abilities (sprint, clamber, etc.)
