Flamethrower in H4

For those of you who played Halo 3, you may remember a really cool or really annoying weapon called the Flamethrower. The level of impact you got was based on which end you were on when it was being used, as many laughed while they saw their burning enemies curse as their bodies were incinerated. You picked the weapon up like a turret, and would spew a burst of flames capable of catching others on fire. The map this was most prominent on was Construct.

In Halo Reach, however, the weapon was nerfed and unable to be found.

This post is to bring back support for it in Halo 4, hopefully redesigned and ready for action in your available arsenal of weapons. How cool would it be to have fire in the palm of your hands? The weapon could undergo change so you hold it like any other gun (rather than a heavy two-handed mass of metal) and would give competition to the shotgun as a new close range weapon.

But what do you think? Give your comments or opinions below.

I like your idea for a close-range fire-based weapon, similar to the Shotgun, BUT WITH FIRE!

I liked fire in H3.

I loved it in Halo 3. wasnt very common though just like the incendiary grenade. I hope it makes a return as that weapon make for a good time.

I’m hoping they set FireBomb grenades as an option for your class.
I’d use that all the time, even if I were to have the plasma grenade as an option.

Yeah flame thrower was funny, played alot of construct waiting for people to come up the lifts and barbecuing there -Yoinks!- lol :smiley:

I really like the idea of a flamethrower that counts as one of your two weapons.
I’d be a really good CQC weapon, but could still get beaten by a sword lunge or shotgun+melee- if they were in range.

If fire returns as a projectile and makes Covies dance instead of them running around panicking or berserking all the time, that will do.

I agree, how am I supposed to celebrate Christmas without beautiful fire.

I think that if the flamethrower was to return, the kill time shouldn’t be near instant. As soon as the person with the flamethrower sets an enemy on fire, they are guaranteed a kill, but the person on fire should be allowed some time to get revenge or to kill someone else.

Here is an idea: For full grenadier you get more grenades plus your grenades are more powerful XD

There should be a flame Spartan where every weapon has flame based ammo and you even get molotov cocktail type grenades.

Better yet: Old west syle armor with homing dynamite, homing firebottles, and homing throwing knives XD

I’d love it if the ODST Flamethrower was included in Halo 4. That thing was amazing!

Hehehe, I enjoyed the flamethrower.
Back in Halo CE, it was one of my favorite weapons.

Yes, and maybe the fire grenade(as long as it can be in online multiplayer)
