FLAG tournament has been around for many years. It host an annual tournament where all proceeds go to benefit Breast and Cervical cancer research. FLAG (short for Fight Like A Girl) Tournament is composed of a variety of tournaments which allows players to participate in whatever way they wish.
FLAG Tournament has separate brackets for 2v2, 4v4, FFA, Solo Firefight, and 4v4 Firefight. These tournaments will take place over a weekend (October 21st-23rd).
Prizes are awarded to those who make it to the end of the brackets. For instance, my team made 2nd place last year in the 2v2 tournament. We were each sent a handwritten note, a month of Xbox LIVE, and a Halo Reach poster signed by Bungie themselves. Pretty cool, right? And that was just for getting 2nd. Who knows what they may have in store for this year.
Prizes and tournaments aside, it is a great way to get some friends together and play some fun games all while helping out a good cause. Trust me, it feels very good to be able to say “I played Halo to help Breast Cancer research”.
