Flag and secondary pistol (Flagnum) ideas

So… I saw that they now allow you to have a Magnum while you hold the flag. But why just the Magnum?

What if you had a different secondary pistol like a Plasma Pistol (Flagma Pistol) or the Boltshot (Flagshot) when you held the flag.

And if you didn’t have a pistol at all, you would have to be stuck with the flag only, just like in previous Halos.

But… if you had two different pistols it would go with the one you were holding at the time you picked up the flag.

What do you guys think?

its not just the magnum thats just what their secondaries have been but im not sure how would u get a magnum from nowhere? i think its really weird so i guess its just flagnum

It is just the magnum. In gameplay it’s shown people with Boltshots and Plasma Pistols get Magnums. And same with people with 2 primaries.

Honestly IMO you should get whatever secondary you have (whichever one you have out when you pick up if more than one). And if you don’t have a sidearm weapon, you only get the flag, and have to Melee.

Maybe the flag has a magnum attached to it…COMPLETE WITH A LEATHER HOLSTER!

I think the game gives you a Magnum and not a Boltshot because the Magnum has the headshot bonus and is the ideal advantage when holding the flag. Not sure is the boltshot has the advantage as well but I think it should give you whatever pistol you have, unless you have a PP in which it should give you a Magnum

The infinite ammo and forcing a magnum instead of just allowing you to use whatever secondary sidearm you have equipped with the flag is due to the fact you can’t drop a flag. Since the likelihood of you killing someone to get more ammo with a waypoint over your head constantly is next to nil, you need to have something to defend yourself regardless of what’s being carried, so the gametype forces a weapon (likely modifiable in flag carrier traits).

Why not just make the nade button the button you press to drop the flag (after 343 fixes their error) like with other objective games like grifball and oddball, and allow weapon switching while carrying the flag? Normally it’s shown what weapon you have equipped in normal CTF even though you can’t use it. By allowing you to still switch the weapon you wield, you can plan ahead which primary weapon you will pull out when you drop the flag. And, in the case of carrying two sidearms, you can wield them and switch between them while carrying the flag.

It already has irreversible magnets/is coated in super-glue…WHY NOT!?
