So I went into this action sack game mode expecting ground pounds galore but honestly it might as well be called Beam Rifle Arena, only true let down in an otherwise great playlist. Anyone else feel this needs tweaking?
Agreed 100%! I hate it when most of the players in the game spend the whole match just sniping each other. I feel that it completely ruins what should be a really fun gametype.
I don’t understand why anybody thought that having us spawn with Beam Rifles would be a good idea… It would make much more sense to start with Plasma Pistols.
It could be cool with the hydra but a 200% damage resistance so it’s a four shot kill.
If I’m playing to win I don’t go up the lifts once. It should be called snipers pit. lol

The ability to counter the fool who tries to ground pound you while your staring at him.
I’ve only gotten to play it once, but I thought it was fun. I got plenty of ground pounds that game too. But since it’s been out a while I’m sure that people have learned how to abuse it with the snipers.

Quite possible, or maybe I just got unlucky with that match.
I agree, it takes away the point of it being a ground pound arena if a player can 1 shot someone easily.

Remove the beam rifle. Reduce the ammo in the pistol to as low as possible. Spawn with a plasma pistol and a pistol.
Until its easily fixed by having no ammo in a magnum, I will continue to use the beam
I have not played that yet, But based on what you guys are saying, they should replace the beam rifle with the CE pistol. the time to pound is close to the time required to pull off 3 good shots.
It’s called GPA but there’s Starkiller badges to be had as well! Oh, and First Strikes!
I think I’d prefer the BiRi to the BeRi, but either is good.

Agreed the Binary Rifle probably would be better.
What bothers me is there was no mention of changing anything in the live stream yesterday.
Wish they decided to put something other than breakout in there.

It’s one game type in a casual playlist. I’m sure they didn’t give it much thought since they play tested it. Besides, an older version had them using a UNSC Sniper. That seems a little more over powered.
I would prefer it to be plasma pistol so that ground pounds are encouraged. That game mode is so much more fun ground pound only.

Now that it’s in MM and available to the masses, they need be putting a lot of thought into those playlists. The Husky Raid gametype also needs to be fixed since it’s broken with the spawn blocking.
I died 1 out of 10 times from Ground Pound… The rest is just sniper…

But the game is called Ground Pound Arena. Ground Pound. Not Sniper Arena. If there were no Beam Rifles, nobody would be sitting around staring at each other, since they would be trying to get ground pound kills, as it was intended.
