Fixing game = biger population

And how to fix? Easy. Look at other games:
Only 120 lvl. And that is big problem for hardcore halo funs… What is solution:
Look at borderlands 2 solution add dlc (please FREE)
Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack Challenge adds 11 more levels of character growth.
But halo 4 from lvl 120 to 240? Or more.

Maps: Look at Gears Of War Judgment, Epic give free maps to players, GREAT maps…

Achievements: If 343 don’t wont to give DLC owners dlc playlist. Then remove from requirements:
Crimson DLC matchmaking
Majestic DLC matchmaking
Castle DLC Matchmaking
Champions DLC Matchmaking
And give as option to take achievements in custom games… People will buy DLC for achievements, to complete Halo 4 to 100%. And i have them for that reason…

Skins: Give as new weapon skins, if you play 100 war games in weak new DMR skin, or BR skin, AS…

It is easy…

343 doesn’t control the price of maps. They can’t give away DLC for free unless MS says so.

That said, as a “hardcore” halo player I can say with certainty that achievements and weapons skins are so unimportant they don’t even make the list of reasons why H4 failed. H4 failed because they focused TOO MUCH on useless gimmicks like that instead of giving players a game that played like Halo.

At this stage, it’s unlikely they’ll make further additions or changes to the game and, frankly, they could hand everyone a $20 bill and it wouldn’t increase the population.

To my mind, treading water is the best they can hope for and giving away the farm won’t accomplish a great deal. I think the diehards and those who enjoy Halo 4 have shown that they will play the game in its current state.

That said, a 1/2 price DLC sale is always a good idea, as is addressing some of the bizarre playlist and gametype decisions made by the “sustain” team.

> H4 failed because they focused TOO MUCH on useless gimmicks like that instead of giving players a game that played like Halo.

I also believe halo 4 didn’t succeed due to it’s concentration on the casual players instead of the competitive players.

We aren’t alone. It’s something 343 has to be blind and deaf to not realize. They’ve been criticized for it since day 1. Hopefully they do the right thing and fix it in H5.

I WANT to unlock all Achievements, and 343 did not give me any solution… That is may big problem…

Adding more skins, levels, and other carrots-on-a-stick doesn’t “fix” the game.

It’s not going to make people who hate the gameplay come back.

What is your solution? What i sad that will fix game is from experience of my friends that left halo…

Edit: Can we get like in Halo reach where are the single player maps used for multiplayer?

Probably not. Halo 4 has been out too long for any major changes such as single player maps being put into MM. As for fixing this game dude, again, it’s been out too long for any real/good changes to take place. We have to wait and see if Halo 5 is based of community ideas. I hope it is.

Had to comment on this. Epic gave “GREAT maps” for free on Judgement? Thats questionable.

Epic only gave the first 2 maps for free in Gears Judgment, and they weren’t technically DLC since they were already on the disc. Also they were not originally going to be free, but Epic made the choice to make them free because the game was deemed bad by the Gears community after only a month from release (many of them went back to Gears 3).

And Halo 4 is not??? 400 000 players left game in less then 6 mounts…

Free dlc doesn’t fix broken or missing gameplay mechanics and features.

343i must stop looking for what other franchises are doing. Look what happened to Halo 4. They copied everything Call of Duty had a turned it even worse. This is not the solution for improving Halo.

Halo must be Halo to succeed, otherwise it will remain the same crappy product we received with the fourth entry.

Best comment around here. Totally agree with him.

> Free dlc doesn’t fix broken or missing gameplay mechanics and features.

It certainly fixes more features than simply doing nothing.

The game ran poorly back when it first came out and had a huge population. Strangely now that it has a small population it doesn’t make a whole lot of difference. Maybe the net code has been improved.
As for the DLC maps I knew they would hardly ever be played and if they were I knew it would be from a smaller pool of players so I didn’t bother.
DLC sucks! and is driving game quality backwards in general.

It would only help the people that bought the DLC. It doesn’t fix what’s wrong with the game.

If they fixed what’s wrong with the game, more people might buy the DLC.

What’s wrong with the game? It’s too accessible. Skilled players don’t stand out. Less skilled players have no incentive to improve. With Halo 2/3 you wanted to be good, you wanted your teammates to be good, and you wanted to play good opponents. That doesn’t happen in Halo 4 because it can’t. Once you and your teammates get your rocket launchers and incineration cannons handed to you, no one needs to be good. Just keep squeezing the trigger until the game ends.

Someone said it’s too late to make changes. I disagree. Halo 5 is still a long way off. They could try taking PO out of BTB for a couple of weeks. They could try taking power weapons out of PO for a couple of weeks. They could try making skill with loadout weapons more important than acquiring power weapons.

At this point, what do they have to lose?

Except it didn’t fail.
Did it mot live up to all expectations? Yes. Did it fail? No.

Its hard to say what would bring player back to Halo 4. Just seems like players have more choices when it comes to FPS games compared to when Halo 2 and 3 were out.

343 has offered special emblems and helmets on special play dates, and I don’t believe that it effected the amount of players in matchmaking when it happened.

I would like to see a DLC playlists. A single list of team slayer/objective game types where the DLC maps would rotate every week. That way players aren’t waiting for months to play in the DLC maps that they are working on achievements for.

Halo 4 isn’t a bad game, I actually think its a good game. Its just that its a bad HALO game. If it was called something different and didn’t have Halo in the title, not as many people would be complaining.

Adding more to the useless grind and weapon skins fixes nothing that was wrong with Halo 4.
