I love Halo 5. ( let that sink in a bit, I know it’s hard to hear for some of you). I also loved Halo 2 and 3. I like where the game was, and I also like where halo 5 is taking it.
Problem is, many gamers do not feel the same way. While I like the majority of the game mechanics in halo 5, ground pound asside. And this game has a Halo “feel” iMO, there a lot of halo players who don’t think the same way. A LOT.
halo 5 has really divided the community unlike any other game before it. While there are those who enjoy the new mechanics and gameplay (lack of content asside)and feel that 343i is on the right track there are an equal number of gamers who a craving old halo. And by that I mean no sprint, because that really is what it all comes down to. Sprint. Halo 4 got a lot of hate also but halo 5 seems to have a much larger support group. There’s a lot of people who love this game. I think this game will last awhile. Smaller numbers, but it’s not going to die down to nothing like 4 did
What I would like to see in the next release is for 343i to make 2 games for halo 6. The first release from the perspective of blue team. With old “halo 2” style mechanics all through both campaign and multiplayer. No sprint, no abilities, a large box is now a impassable object for a Spartan. Most importantly maps an mechanics for multiplayer designed for old slow paced gameplay. Just like it used to be.
The second release tell Osiris story during the same timeline. With redesigned levels and all new Spartan abilities included. Multiplayer much like halo 5. Kind of like a ODST remake but the levels would need to be redesigned for the different gameplay.
Theres a good chance halo 6 is it for the franchise. If devs were to go this route old time halo fans would get their origional style halo back. Something I would gladly play. And the game could continue to evolve through Osiris’ story. Something I would also play.
Sales and community participation would decide if they drop the franchise, continue on either path or simply make 2 different game styles like other FPS do.
To sum up. Halo community is clearly divided. I think it’s time to take the franchise in 2 separate directions. I would play both. Would you?
So you think because the community is divided, 343 should make 2 games? I am going to have to disagree with you on that. There are a lot of people that are happy with moving forward. I’m ok if there are people that dislike the changes. If they like Halo 2 or 3 better, I suggest they go and play one of those. The answer to all of this is simple. If you don’t like it then don’t play it.
The game is fun to play and there are enough players who enjoy it as is and aren’t interested in living in the past. They appreciate the innovative ideas. To be frank, this whole “they added sprint which was not in the first halo so it has diluted the game and it doesn’t make any sense to have something that was not in the first halo”, is just a silly argument to make in my opinion.
It’s called trying new things. If they stuck to the same original formula then halo would not be around still. Each halo game (2 and 3 included) added something to the mix to change stuff around.
yes, move foward its the best!
but why go backards on split screen? Spartan Habilities? Multiples Game modes?
Why dont just keep adding things like Bungie?
Every thime, more things and not less,
I know, this isnt a thing that we can improve just screaming on keyboards,
but, the solutions are more easy, just more Playlist, thats all!
Classics, New Classics, New ones,
they won money, and they will keep that way, i hope, just add not erase!
even if that cost more, the fans will be gratefull,.
otherwise, many are leaving.

Man, your formatting and grammar worries me. Anyways, I have to disagree. Continuously adding things just sorta destroys the game and actually dilutes it. Split screen was a necessary thing to remove because of the vertical build of the game. also, Halo 5 hasn’t divided us. The halo community is interacting with each other more than ever and we still are basically the same. There will always be people who don’t like the newest halo and when 6,7, etc. come out, there will be folks that shout “Ugh, Halo 5 was so much better, why did you have to ruin it [insert company name]. It’s not even halo anymore”. Just play the game and go back to reach or whatever if you don’t like it.
I play both, sadly I am having to say that I am siding with the gamers of the past games. With 5 I see so few pros that just stack up to a number of cons with 5 in some cases. I use to play Halo simply because it was Halo…but now, I’ve been so disappointed in some aspects that next game I am going to wait until it comes out and buy a physical copy. I am not trying to complain, just voicing mere concern for the franchise’s future. 5 can be either good or bad within the next couple of months and I am looking forward to finding out which, providing that I am not enjoying Reach.
now see the problem is the time and recorces 343i would need to put into 2 games versus one is significant if they are to be good titles each
