The title pretty much says it all. When playing co-op campaign or Spartan Ops, the game is nearly unplayable. I can throw in Borderlands 2 and play with my friends like they are in the same room, but HALO 4 is nearly unplayable. This is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING, as co-op is my favorite mode of play, and WHY I BOUGHT THE GAME.
Here is what I have tried:
- Installing both disks
- Setting up port forwarding for XBL
- Setting XBL ports to the highest setting on my QoS list
- Re-booting my modem and router (although that wasn’t the problem. I can always tell when I have had a power failure and this needs to happen).
- Tested my connection speed.
Nothing helps, and like I said, I don’t have this problem with BL2. Also, my location is 45601, if that helps.
Thanks
I’m sure 343 knows about this. And after they get back from ‘sick leave’ for Black Ops 2, they’ll consider changing around vehicles on maps other than Meltdown rather than address actual issues.
The reason co-op lags has nothing to do with how your game is installed and little to do with your internet – it is how their netcode for co-op is implemented. It is a different system than multiplayer, and thus can’t really be fixed.
I don’t feel like writing out a lengthy technical explanation as to why this is, so I will direct you to a Bungie Weekly Update that explains what is going on in regards to when this system was implemented in Halo: ODST Firefight. Same system was in Reach and is now in Halo 4. Hope this clears things up.
I have never experienced anywhere close to this kind of lag. I have called my ISP and exhausted ideas.
I have played hours of co-op Reach and no problems. I think that 343 has some issues with their service.
Yeah, about that. Never mind. I found an issue with my router that I did not find until extensive troubleshooting
My apologies, 343, and I hope that others find their solution.
