Plaza, Coliseum, Plaza, Coliseum, Truth, Coliseum. I sick and tired of playing on the same maps over and over again. I was kinda happy we played a different map but I hate Truth. I’m sick of seeing the same reincarnation of the same Covenant style map over and over again. Bring Voting back in Halo Infinite. Or at least the Halo 3 veto system.
Apparently maps & game types you play are recorded so you shouldn’t run into the same ones over & over. When I was playing that was never the case. It was painful playing the same stuff over & over. Id like to see a 1 map veto system brought back but they claim what is in place now is good…
Are you playing Quickplay, perchance? That playlist only has like 3-5 maps in rotation.
Also, in case you didn’t know, backing out of the queue resets your map rotation hopper. The game does keep track of what maps you’ve played and tries not to repeat maps so long as you stay in queue.
Are you playing quick play? That playlist only contains those three maps.
If you are backing out of the search after each game you will increase your chances of playing the same map again. If you’re playing swat some maps are double weighted and you could get the same map two games in a row but with a different load out.
The veto/voting system was horrible. In pre patch MCC everyone always voted for 3. If there was something similar in H5 I would always vote to play truth because it’s my favourite which wouldn’t make you happy. The current system is more balanced and fair to everyone.
Edit: I see someone else beat me to the punch

I haven’t backed out of the queue. And only 3-5 maps is kinda dumb.

The fixed MCC with a H3 BTB playlist. So taking away the Voting option was just stupid. And Veto I want back. I hate the Obj. game modes. I like slayer. So for MCC, there should just be Obj. game mode playlists.

If you want more map variety, play Team Slayer. Quickplay is designed to be limited to just Slayer on a few basic maps so new players can get a handle on H5 multiplayer.
I can see why you would want that, but be aware. If voting is in Halo Infinite, I don’t think it would fix the problem of playing the same map multiple times in a row entirely.
For example, Halo Reach had voting. It’s really easy for people to pick one map, and if it’s a map you already played, then you will have to play it again if it get’s voted enough.
There is also the fact that people have full control over which map is chosen. On one hand, you can choose a map you want to play, so you don’t have to deal with playing the same map. On the other hand, everyone else has the same privilege, so people can possibly pick a map you just finished playing. Voting can be good and bad.
That’s not to say I enjoy Halo 5’s random map system, as the map selection in Halo 5 can repeatedly pick the same map you just finished playing. I have two suggestions. My first is that there should be a continuous pattern of maps, where it never picks the same map twice in a row. My second is the veto system used in Halo 3.
UPDATE: Apparently, Halo 5 keeps track of the maps you play so it doesn’t pick the same map two times in a row? I just figured this out.

I’m more of a social player. By the way you made it sound is I got to be a competitive player to play this game. That’s stupid.
I think OP is right I think he should only have to play the game type and map that he likes (in case you didn’t spot it all said tongue in cheek) and the rest of us will play the games we like on maps that the game gives us.

You don’t need to be competitive to play ranked games. If you play casually, you’ll just be placed at a lower rank with opponents who are similar in skill to your casual playing skill.
Sometimes it’s also random

If that’s why do I find so many try hard people? There needs to be just a Social Slayer mode.
could they put fan created maps into the mix so its not always the same

False. I played eagle square 4 times in a row the other day LMAO. But I like eagle square so it was fine. If only I could play viking all the time
OP just dashboard. If you have to, dashboard 5 times in a row until you get a map you want. I’ve got it down to 1 minute between dashboarding and searching for a new map so no time really lost. It’s a sub optimal system so you gotta do what you gotta do.

Halo 5’s game dynamics won’t ever allow you to have a social experience like say Halo Reach. Come to BTB man, even if you get an objective gametype just make a bee-line for the sniper or other power weapons every time, sit on your perch and give the infantry some cover. Only good unsweaty social experience you’re going to have on this game.

I see someone bee-line for that Sniper, I hang back with him so I can pick it up after he gets himself killed xD
