Before I start ranting let me be the first to say … I’m not good. The best I’ve ever managed to rank is Platinum 5 and I’m barely able to manage a positive k/d. I’m 44 years old and I understand not everyone is capable of carrying a team and we all have bad games. But … I played three games of ranked Slayer tonight and over those three games I had 4 teammates (two in one game that were troll accounts playing together intentionally tanking games to ruin it for other players) that combined for 4 kills and 63 deaths. Let me repeat that. Your busted -Yoinked!- matchmaking system put me in three games in a row with people that managed to get one kill for every 16 deaths. My old, slow, blind -Yoink- can do better than that when I’m drunk.
Why the -Yoink- are they always on my team? Why am I continually put against full parties that are actually trying to do well and mine are two troll accounts that have combined for 1 kill and 76 deaths over two games. It really sucks. It’s not fun. I just want to have an even chance of winning at least once a night. Not this garbage.
You know I have a similar complaint. By no means am I a Halo God/Pro. I’m not the worst either. My play style relies extremely on teamwork and communication. So naturally when I’m matchmaking by myself, I understand Im not going to do good. The fact I get matched with players that are about as functional as a hot wheel with a messed up tire is ridiculous while the other team is like a professionally trained Spartan Team Six. My game history will literally show when there’s good communication or at least teammate common sense and when I have Patrick Star as a teammate.

yeah a ranking system that judges you and makes you lose points because of players like that is ridiculous

diamond 3 is typically a placement rank for most current halo players its not hard to get to while onyx and champ are for others
That’s nothing I was playing swat for the first time in a while I got spawned killed 5 time how the -Yoink- is that even allowed.Also why are the maps with huge pillars I can’t see I can’t do anything in this game can someone Explain to me since when does a magnum out rang and out guns a br or dmr. And what’s with all the camping omg it’s way to much it’s getting annoying need to go back to halo 4 or reach cuz this game is bad and how is it that they know where my head is during a swat game I can send pic and video if need be.

spawn killing in swat has always been a thing never will change
On multiple occasions on slayer and swat I reached the rank of plat five and was one to two games away from reaching diamond one and the game matches my team unfairly I have had games for example with a onyx, diamond 5, diamond 2, diamond 1. That vs me at plat 6 with two Unranked and a diamond 2. Another was me and three three other plays vs two champs a diamond and a silver. While the silver isn’t the problem everything else is. Please fix it

I know what you mean. I’m 62 and have always been terrible at Halo. I’ve been bad since it was called Marathon. Halo is the only game I have ever played consistently and I’ve only tried a few other games like Destiny, Twisted Metal - maybe one other. In all these many, many years I have played Halo, matchmaking has never met my expectations. The most annoying thing to me is that in this era of supremely powerful servers and sometimes great programmers, they either can’t or just don’t bother to truly match you with people of the same skill. It has never been good, although I will say it has been much worse than it is now.
I also get annoyed with the “get a thicker skin” or “report them and move on” or “try dying less kid” crowd. That is a very defeatist attitude. Why not push to get a better system instead of just accepting mediocrity? I still enjoy playing and do so many hours a week. Lately, I’ve been quitting more and more games because I keep getting matched with vastly superior players. I can only stand getting killed within seconds of spawning so many times. In fact I just got banned for 30 hours a few minutes ago. If I quit twice now, I get banned.

diamond 3 is the best correct rank, a player can become champ using different road, playing with a team, playing with a smurf(i hate this),playing in solo(i love those champions), playing as pusher in a lucky team of campers, playing like a lucky camper in a full team of pushers.
IMO Diamond 3 is the highest rank, the rest doesn’t matter in actual halo 5 system, I just like the design of how the ranks looks like.
Consider that in a lot of scenarios, if you are onyx 1600 by the start of the season and you play like a good plat, you stay onyx and hardly return down.

I don’t think either of those takes is correct — D3 is the max placement so there is some grind involved. There’s definitely people way beyond D3 in skill and if you somehow played as 1600 then started playing like a plat, you’ll fall far if you play enough games for the system to catch up. On the other hand, D3 is well above average as seen in the pop charts.

I think it is being updated but perhaps not - they could clear that up. Even so, the distributions would be similar.

I know it’s always been a thing but it getting old fast and I forgot to put in that massage I posted why I can play the other halo game fine but when I play 5 I can’t get more then 5 kills I really hope halo 6 leave me speechless in other words amazing or I’m going to see this game in the dark like dead space

This game is no longer supported for filing complaints. Unless you say hateful things, call names, threaten other players with harm. There is no action taken. They have your money and the game is old. New one is well in the works…and that leaves you and me out to dry and they could give a yoink!!! Players know it too. quit early, griefing, just be a all round -Yoink- it’s no problem because the " algorithm" doesn’t work, no support unless you put the truth in the forums then your post is restricted look for spoiler!! I don’t understand why so many players are complaining about poor servers? The people who live next door to the servers are doing just fine…not to worry, the rest of us again it’s to bad…so sad.
