I got on to forge my upcoming infection map just to see that “Retrieving data” was the only thing between me and starting my map. This is freaken ridiculous so please fix this in the January update!
I had this happen to me once. I went back to the xbox dashboard, shut down the game, and then re-started it. Problem solved.
It still let’s you load the map though. Except, atleast for me, you can no longer Save the map as a new name. So yeah, I’m replying because that could be fixed.
Also, they need an Autosave feature possibly mainly when it decides to disconnect from the server. I sometimes will flip over to TV or something, come back and it has left the server so I lose anything I had done to that point.
Yeah I’ve been having the same problem! Very frustrating!
Exactly! It’s the most annoying thing ever and I saved multiple versions of my map but I just got done doing the most complicated part of my map but 343’s bugs were like “NOPE” and freaked it all up.
I’ve experienced the Retrieving Data problem plenty of times, and it drives me crazy because I like to Save As very often. Workaround: have a friend go into your forge files, load the map by themselves, Save As a new version, then you load their new version. It’s stupid, but has worked for me every time.
I’ve had little to no problems with this, but I typically don’t have problems with these kinds of things.
EW, PLEASE NO AUTOSAVE. When I’m playing around with scripting or experimenting with things, I don’t want them to be saved when it’s inconvenient. Sometimes, I wanna try building something, run the script, and if it doesn’t work and breaks the map, I wanna be able to just exit and reenter. Quicksave is mapped to it’s own button.
Anyways, I’ve had it tell me “retrieving data” before, and I just did what the other guy did: restart H5. Annoying but it worked.
