Fix this train wreck called Halo 4!

Just finished a session on what used to be my favorite multiplayer franchise and i’m appalled at the experience i came away with, left a very bad taste.

  1. Quitters! in Throwdown i did about 10 games and not one finished 4v4, infact i don’t think one barely finished lol. (more proof an ingame ranking system is needed).

  2. I then played some Infinity Slayer and i went in as a 2 so i got a couple randoms and yeah i played ADRIFT and yes once again the entire opposing team camped there spawn whilst my 2 randoms both went big negative running at them without caution.

  3. Then i carried on with a couple more Infinity Slayer games and i could have thought i was playing Fiesta? The infinity drops are ludicrous. I know i got punished by not playing as a full team as my randoms were given them ordinances with there constant dying.

I must ask why is there no matchmaking to determine skill? I know CSR is coming but it’s way too late this game would have maintained a big population had it been balanced and Ranked at the beginning. I shouldn’t have to search as a four to find a decent game never had to in past Halo titles but in this one i play as a four and just stomp randoms, which is also dull.

They wont fix anything when all of these idiots keep paying them for new content.

It will never be fixed as its far too broken ,a tragedy as it had so much potiental.Just enjoy what you can of it.

Sadly, with the money Halo 4 made on launch day, its only going to feed the fire for Halo 5. Expect an ultra elaborate armor locker room with custom lockers as well. I have zero hopes up that Halo 5 will be any better than this or Reach.

I never go into matchmaking without a social team. I always lose thanks to random idiots. However, I usually win if I just get a bunch of friends together and have fun. Communication and enjoyment are key to winning.

I loved Halo 3’s matchmaking!!! I had Arena in Halo Reach which just about gave me something to play… In Halo 4 i have nothing, makes me cry.

Edit: Forgot to put a shout out to Halo 2 which also had awesome matchmaking, even the dark modding period and cheaters but still more fun than Halo 4 lol.

> They wont fix anything when all of these idiots keep paying them for new content.

Insulting people who enjoy this game and calling them idiots because they want to purchase DLCs for Halo 4 is not a very classy way of going about this. I agree there is much to be fixed but putting down others who hold a different opinion about the game is very close-minded.

  1. quitters will always exist. They have existed in past halo games. There is nothing we can do to “fix” this.

  2. same as above. You can’t really nerf someones play style.

lastly the highlighted is a new term that is just now catching on. Many people use it as a poor phrase thinking they are clever. All you are doing is acting like a troll. This hurts credibility to your post. Please don’t.

There is “true skill” hidden working in the back round it has been since halo 2. A visible rank is merely a visual representation for us players to see and has no actual influence over how the game matches players up. That aside true skill has never worked properly sure we have had some properly matched up games but in the entirety of the halo MP experience its been incredibly flawed. This is common knowledge to any halo vet and is not new. So please don’t try to use it as fuel for “halo 4 is a train wreck” argument.

So when i played ranked in Halo 3 on my 50 and constantly getting tough games time and time again that system is ‘HIDDEN’ in Reach and now Halo 4? funny because i never got teammates that constantly 1-30 in Throwdown and walk around wondering what on earth is going on? In Arena on Reach I played Onyx division and constantly got hard/balanced games. In Halo 4 i never get that… Constant noobs on my team and constant noobs to play against (YAWN)!!!

I’m sorry this ‘HIDDEN MATCHMAKING’ reminds of Social Slayer on Halo 3 you could literally match anyone whereas on my 50 i matched always good strong teammates aswell as opponents.

Your rank on the forums is proof enough to me that your new. We have always had hidden true skill. Its been practically the same in every halo game. Also your experiences (if they are even true hard to believe you were a legit 50 AND onyx rank) do not equal everyone elses. There have been plenty of people who have stepped forward claiming having been matched with equally skilled opponents and people who have reported being mismatched. That is why i said it has never worked properly.

In my case in halo 3 i was matched VS 50’s frequently even though i was not that skill rank myself. As for reach i wasn’t ranked. Never liked arena. But still my point still stands and is valid.

I agree with you 100% fatal. Some people will defend the halo series to the bitter end no matter how bad it gets. I have good news, the halo 3 population is alive and well!!

BWO I have a feeling the reason you matched 50’s in H3 was due to social games. Those were always random matchups. For example…Reach and Halo 4. Visible rankings, regardless of true skill, required you to win most matches to keep ranking up. You lose to many, you rank down. I know you have some ranked matches under your belt to know better, but I can also tell your not a fan of visible ranks. Therefor I can see why your defending this game and making jabs at other members for calling this game what it really is.

You need to calm down OP. Do you have any idea, at all, how hard it is to program a video game? Specifically one which has left the development team, and has a rigid engine that is quite difficult to change?

343i has had their hands full. They’ve been working on Spartan Ops, weekly Multiplayer updates that fix bugs and glitches along with introducing new playlists, and have been working on the planned DLC.

343i has responded to the community multiple times explaining that they take everyone’s complaints into account, but it’s extremely hard to change the game without extensive testing that proves the change is beneficial.

We’ve recently gotten news that the Red X is coming back, along with a TU that will be larger than the last one, and the CSR 1-50 ranking system.

So how about you sit down, play some Halo 3, and check back on Halo 4 in a few weeks? Why play this game if you hate it anyway?

Oh, what is it, a dozen players a day?

Didn’t you hear, any game with less than 200,000 people in it is dead.

XD OH GOSH!!! The Irony is hilarious!!!

@ onyx, Do you understand at all that 343 already had the foundation for halo laid out for them? Instead of refining an already great game, they wanted to put their own stamp on it, twisting and replacing everything that made this game great. The pop speaks for itself. And the return of the red X is just another example of “whoops, maybe we shouldn’t have changed this game so much.” Look at the big picture dude.

Funny thing, Halo 3 was released in 2007
Halo 4 was released…oh yeah lol

@BWO I have 6 Years on my Live account and have over 50k kills on every Halo multiplayer title, Yes i am a forum noob but i am in no way a Halo noob. I play at the highest level and have done for many years! I was a 50 in multiple playlists and 3%Onyx in Reach, all i do is play to win and lend myself to the most competitive playlists going as it’s what i enjoy. BWO You are as some have said blinded by your love for Halo even though it’s taken a massive downturn of late.

I love this game. Team throwdown is a joke. I mean if you want H3 with better graphics then go play your 2007 boring game, and leave H4 the way it was released.

I understand Halo 4 has obtained a new fanbase and i don’t oppose those that love it. I just thought Halo wouldn’t abandon it’s roots, which clearly it has and it’s suffering for it. It would have been more appropriate if this game for you didn’t have Halo in it’s title but was a new franchise with a different name.

@BWO again lol if Trueskill has been hidden all this time why so long for CSR to show it’s head? surely just switch it on and show? Clearly it has no ‘Hidden’ system. The system which i heard will still be partially hidden is releasing in April?
