Currently, there is a glitch going around where if you download a gametype or map from Waypoint it downloads every time you start up Halo 4, or if you go to the main menu and then access the multiplayer suite.
For me, it’s downloaded the Infection gametype 29 times…
It’s things like these that make this game a massive turnoff. Get it together 343.
It appears that other people have had the same problem.
Try disconnecting your PC and Xbox from the internet, that may stop the download loops.
I recently had this very same issue arise myself. It became VERY annoying to say the least. It started after I had been on my PC and chose a few custom gametypes and forge variants that I wished to add to my own. I had used the “Send to my XBox” option on Waypoint’s website. The onslaught of duplicate downloads came immediatly after. I began with deleting the duplicates as they arrived into my local files, but it soon got extremely out of hand.
I eventually decided to see what I could do to remedy the situation, first, on my XBox I went into my “active transfers” and deleted the list that seemed to be queued for download. But sadly the bombardment of downloads commenced to no end. After this I logged into Halo Waypoint on my PC and navigated to my file share, and then located the “active transfers” menu there as well. I found the same list of files that had been invading my sanity. I cleared out the entire list of active transfers, then logged out of Waypoint. Then returning to my console to load up my game to find that the madness had finally come to an end. (happy face) Not sure if this will work for everyone, but it sure worked for me… hope that helps.
