This website is completely broken. I can’t view anything on my Halo Reach history or the file share. It’s been like this for months! Can someone do something about it?
What web browser are you using, and what version is it at? What kinds of files should be visible on your File Share?
I can view your Reach game history and see games as recent as 3/10 (for example, you went +13 in your last game of BTB Heavies). However, there definitely are bugs when attempting to view the details of any games: there is a random chance that you’ll end up stuck at a loading circle.*
Your Reach File Share appears to be empty, but I can see content in your Recent Screenshots. The File Share doesn’t trigger network errors like the Game History does, so as far as I can tell without heading over to my Xbox, that page is working when I view it.
Does any of this line up with what you’re experiencing when you try to view these pages?
- @343i: Sometimes, when selecting a game from the Game History, the AJAX request to retrieve its details returns an error 500. The page doesn’t seem to do anything to handle this. I’m on Firefox 27.0.1.
DavidJCobb, I too experience the HTTP 500 error on Reach game details, and sometimes in the Halo 4 Stats “app” as well. In the Reach service record, the loading indicator will continue spinning indefinitely whereas the Halo 4 Stats “app” completely errors out and forces you to reload everything.
It seems like Reach game details almost never load whereas with Halo 4, details for games that have been played recently (last 5 minutes or so) often have problems loading but older ones are usually fine.
Hi Anton S044 11,
If you could please answer some questions, we’d like to clarify some things to assist in our investigation.
- Which browser are you using?
- What items are you expecting to see in your file share?
- Can you describe what happens when you attempt to open a match in your game history?
> Can you describe what happens when you attempt to open a match in your game history?
An XHR GET request is sent to https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/players/[gamertag]/haloreach/gamesummary?gamerTag=[gamertag]&gameId=[gameid]&_=[token]. An HTTP 500 error is returned by the server but not handled client-side, thus the spinning circle loading indicator will continue spinning indefinitely.
Go ahead, try it yourself. Open the game history of someone, and click on some games. It probably won’t load 90% of the time, actually getting game details to load up is super rare and has been for quite some time.
Actually, regarding the Halo 4 Stats app having problems loading game details (“Halo 4 Stats App Problem – Halo 4 Stats is having trouble. Please try again later”), it’s not caused by a faulty HTTP request at all. The request to https://stats.svc.halowaypoint.com/en-us/h4/matches/[game-id] returns 200 and, as far as I can tell, a valid JSON reponse with the game details. All other HTTP requests work fine as well so I’m not sure what’s causing the issue.
We hope the reason we haven’t heard back from you is because your issue has been resolved. If your issue has not been resolved, please start a new thread. Thank you so much!
